Parador de Almagro

The parador is magnificent and the service is fast and efficient, but the food is not up to the standard expected of a parador; it is terrible and I do not recommend it at all, besides being expensive.

We had dinner tonight with very little luck. We made a reservation and arrived at 9:00 PM because we were going to the theater at 10:45 PM. At 10:10 PM, the second course still had not been served, with more than 20 minutes having passed since the first courses were cleared. Apparently, the order had been misplaced. One of the second courses, a vegetable terrine, we left untouched: the carrot was sour and no one asked why we left it alone, although, of course, we were charged for it in full. We went with the best intention of celebrating - as we had done a few years ago - but it was a bad experience, unworthy of a Parador.

Beautiful Parador, an old convent, with several patios. Very close to the main square, about a five-minute walk. Excellent service from the staff, for which we are very grateful as I fell ill in the early morning and they provided all the assistance and guidance. By the way, the Parador is a two-minute walk from the Health Center, which was very convenient for us. Room and bathroom are spacious, with enough space to set down and open the suitcases. We will return.
