Bungalows Castillo Playa

2nd time here. 1st the good points. Although rooms are basic decor they are extremely clean with a small kitchen 2 hobs big fridge freezer and stocked well with utensils. Tv had basic uk channels although reception kept dropping out frequently. Not fun when watching the footy World Cup. Beds are 2 singles quite comfortable with extra bedding if needed. Good powerful shower although shower tray can get quite slippery. A cupboard with a broom and mop (which came in handy) , 2 sun loungers with table and 2 chairs and a good washing line. All staff were amazing the reception staff bar staff and lifeguard all extremely polite. Now the not so good points. I have never been to a hotel ( and believe me ive been to some bad ones) where i have never had it cleaned in the week i was there. A maid came to the door threw a couple of clean towels at me and that was the last i see of any cleaner. I work hard all year and when im on vacation i do not expect to be making my own bed, nor sweeping and moping my floors.. but i did just that - wow, last time i stayed here the maids were constantly in and out but obviously no more. personal opinion, pool was freezing. There were people in it but like I say it's a personal opinion and im a wuss I just can't do cold water so my week stay i didn't once get in the pool. Good to remember bugalows castillo playa if you look after your clientele they will look after you. !!!

I knew when I first visited last year, that we would be back! Within six weeks of returning to the UK, we were already booked to return and we have not been disappointed. This older styled bungalow complex is just lovely! Yes, the bungalows are older, who cares?! They are clean and tidy, well maintained and in lovely grounds. So central and just ideally located. Gated, security access and safe. I love it! The bar is great. Friendly staff with two happy hours each day. The food is SO good! I ate Pizza twice... burning my mouth twice!!! Its funny because I NEVER eat Pizza and yet it was simply SOOOO good! I adore the pool. I restfully floated up and down daily! Were there any negatives from the glowing review I gave last year? Yes. Minor ones. 1. The cleaning schedule has been significantly reduced, every few days now at best. Now personally (having been in a SC Villa previously and solely responsible for all the cleaning) this doesn't bother me. But there was one bed linen change for the whole eleven days (and this happened after the first couple of days)! Id have preferred at least one more change personally. But towels were renewed regularly. All in all, it was satisfactory. 2. My other gripe was something the Hotel couldn't have predicted. Noise. Several guests were not entirely respectful of the impact of their noise pollution upon fellow guests. Something not previously encountered. Loud, drunken guffawing at 1.45am isn't very friendly. And yes, I know I sound whingy but... damn! I like my sleep! All that said, I'm already getting ready to book again!!!

Absolutely brilliant apartments, nice and clean, staff friendly, very relaxed atmosphere, bar area was lovely, just one thing, no umbrellas over the sunbeds at the pool area,which would of been nice, but on the whole a very nice place and well worth a visit if you want a chilled holiday 😀 also not far from bars and restaurants and the beach
