Caleta del Mar

Went on holiday for a week of self catering in the beautiful Fuerteventura. The location of the room in Corralejo is superb for the Toro and waikiki beaches that are directly accessible via a gate. The complex atmosphere is quiet and low key. The complex has a swimming pool for all ages. The rooms are comfortable and have what you need to cook etc etc. The room we stayed in was on two floors, be very careful as the front door openings onto open stairs !. The only downsides were that there was only A/C downstairs and ceiling fan upstairs. Always leave the spare key in the safe box outside the room so you don’t lock yourself out. Also very important to remember that all the doors are the type that are locked when closed and they will not open again without the key, so Big Tip have them in the locked position before going outside on the patio area. The local shops / bars / restaurants are within easy walking distance from the complex. These shops / restaurants are along the main road and leading to the plaza and marina areas. You can stroll along the seafront to the marina as well, you’ll pass several restaurants and bars along the way. We had the Toro restaurant/ bar directly out the back of the gate very good food and service. Also the Retro bar is worthy of a visit, only 15min walk away. We found the food was of a good quality and price.

The apartment was very clean and had everything like at home, 1 minute from the beach and 10 minutes from the port and the center of Corralejo. The pool was good, the staff very friendly, I will return as soon as I can.

Our apartment was less that 100 metres from the beach. The entrance to our apartment was behind the covered seating area of a restaurant, so if we chose to sit on the porch, it was basically next to the restaurant's diners. Some of the restaurant's diners were using our apartment's porch as a smoking or 'on the phone' area. Noise from diners until midnight, then noise from the cleaners at 5.30am. Asked to be moved to a different location, but told there wasn't anything available. Contacted Love holidays via their complaints procedure and received an automated reply. Very poor holiday experience.
