After a 2.5 hour nightmare coach ride from Barcelona airport (40 mins in a taxi ) we were dropped off in the middle of nowhere! Making matters worse. ..the coach driver didn't speak a word of English! After finding the tourist office where we had to pick up the key from. ..about a mile from where were dropped off dragging two very heavy cases through very busy streets, we were given a map, keys & a huge bale of sheets & towels! Which we had to drag back through the now dark very busy streets! Eventually we found the apartments. ...although very basic the apartment was clean....be prepared to make the beds on arrival! Also the apartments don't have balconies. The apartments are not suitable for the old or disabled & be prepared for some sleepless nights as the apartments are very noisy with a lot of door slamming & clip clopping of high heels & the odd midnight arguments between drunken couples (best solution is to get drunk and sleep through it...lol). The apartment is in a great location for the beach, bars & restaurants. ..lloret de mar is a lovely town with lots of narrow streets crammed with an array of wonderful shops & restaurants very very Spanish. ...don't expect English restaurants!.... All in all if your expectations are high about where you sleep. ...pay more money & stay in a four star hotel!

Cheap and very basic.. Location is good, only a short walk to the beach, bus station and shops/supermarket. Around the area isn't great though.. Full of takeaways and the food just seemed to be fast food.. Beach is lovely though just a bit of a party destination. We only came as we wanted to stay somewhere near enough to Barcelona that was cheap and we did visit one day but wouldn't stay in lloret again.

The flat is a great value and an excellent base for holidaying. Location is right in the centre but in the part that is next the shopping street and not all clubs and pubs, which means that after 10 pm it is dead quiet, no drunk noisy clubbers but if you want to go clubbing it is only 5 min walk as well.
Very close to the beach, though took us a day or two to memorise how to navigate little town streets. Shops are very close as well, the best (cheapest) we have found were near the main square near bus station (turn left and then left again when you leave the flat, follow the road towards the main square , past the clothes shops, then there is a fruit shop on your right (ripe and reasonably priced fruit), opposite souvenir shop (good for household items) and a bit further down after the takeaway on your left a small entrance to the shop (it looks small but has cheap meat and frozen goods) abit further down there is a bigger shop also on your left (Bonpreu I think?), it is also not bad and has more choice and the cheapest 5 lt bottled water in town..
Many people recommend Mercadonna but we found it quite expensive, but if you want to find it it’s – turn left when leaving the flat, left again, follow the road abit and it’s second right, follow that road past the small amusement park, cross the main road and it’s there on the square (open 9.15 to 21.15)
Now a few heads up before choosing Olivo Apartments. There is no microwave, oven, kettle, mugs No toilet paper, washing up liquid or sponges, or TV in the flat. So prepare to go shopping straight away (at least for mugs because there are only glasses and the toilet paper….) and be ready to cook only on the two little eclectics hobs. No toilet paper, washing up liquid or sponges.
Apartments are spotless and in excellent condition (nothing’s broken or shabby) but be prepared to keep the floors clean as the next day tiny ants will come out to investigate. They like dirty swimwear and underwear plus some foods like egg yolk and cakes. So just sweep the floor every few days ( broom and mop with the bucket are present) , put food away ( they don’t bother to climb as far as the cupboards) and don’t leave dirty clothes on the floor.
Check-in by the way was easy enough when you find their office (tiny room right next to the hotel entrance on the side of Town Hall on the square near the sea – 3 min walk). We have arrived late and just rung the night shift guy, he was their in 5 min with our details and knew where we were going and what we wanted (he didn’t speak much English though, so if you have any issues you will have to come back to the office during working hours) Nobody bothered to take our deposit and we only had to give our passport as a reserve and got it back the next day when we paid the city tax (7 Euros I think)
Another thing to keep in mind that walls in the apartments are paper-thin. There is a big notice downstairs that asks the tenants to be quiet between 10pm and 9 am, and we found that people do stick to it (we were told off on our first morning for talking on the stairs while leaving the flat at 8am – we weren’t loud but as I said walls are so thin!)
So all in all I would recommend Olivo Apartments but I would say have realistic expectations for the price you pay – be either prepared to buy everything or constantly eat out and just sleep there. We went with our 3yr old boy for 10 days and I would say it wasn’t ideal for us. But the town itself is very nice, much more interesting than Malgart that we have been too last year. There are so many playgrounds for the little ones!!! 20 meters to the left and 50 meters to the right are 2 playgrounds, then there is a huge one next the beach near Rosamar hotels and many many other ones just you can come by when walking around town.
