Thank you to Yassir and Jesus for providing the bar service with a smile and good humor! Thank you to the reception staff for always smiling.
Quiet and very clean hotel. We stayed at the Bay Pension and ate at the Goya. The food was correct for the Award, activities were planned during the month of September from 9:00 pm until midnight.
The pool and rooms are perfect. The best orientation is either facing the mountains or facing the Goya.
Ideal location to enjoy the beach.
Great Value Award!

We arrived knowing it was a basic hotel. But we expected a polite welcome at minimum. The young man on reception hardly spoke during our 2-night stay, was never pleasant and definitely not welcoming. His behaviour was so bad to all three of us that I actually asked directly the first evening if there was something wrong and said that we had done nothing to merit such rudeness! There was no significant improvement in his behaviour. He was about 'standard' for the staff we came across in the hotel, other than the Housekeeping women, both of whom greeted us pleasantly each time we met.
Let me say the positives first - as it won't take long. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
There is basic and basic in what one expects! In House Beach Hotel, it was BASIC. There were no glasses in the bathrooms, the shower gel dispenser in one room remained empty throughout our visit. There is no internal telephone. The towels were so flimsy that we HAD to get fresh ones both days. The ONLY item decorating the walls was a set of three coat hooks featured in one visitor's photo. We got extra pillows and a hairdryer when we requested them. But we caused great consternation when we requested a second key to one of our rooms so that the two of us could return from our evening out at different times. In the end, I had to go without a key and collect the second one on my return - after another fuss and anxious questioning by the person who seemed to be most senior on the staff - could have been the Manager or the owner.
And then we come to the breakfast buffet. The food in the bain-marie was stone cold. When I questioned this on our first morning, I think, I was told that it was hot when it was put into the bain-marie. Bearing in mind that breakfast is available over a couple of hours and there was no apparent effort to maintain the heat, one would question the culinary and practical skills of the staff involved. Having called attention to the point on our first morning, we were bemused to find - yes, you've guessed it - stone cold again the second morning. To add insult to injury, one of my companions who had served themselves scrambled egg before realising it was cold, was convinced that it was the same scrambled egg in the dish the next day! We can't be certain, but based on the way the hotel is run, we would not be surprised.
There is not a single item of fresh fruit and no yoghurts. The pastries were of the poorest quality bulk-buy type. The bread, ham and cheese were ok and the coffee from the dispensing machine were grand. The first morning a young female member of staff turned on the radio, for her own amusement, so loudly that we could not hear each other at the table and when asked to turn it down, the difference was minimal. The second morning, a young male staff member sprayed something with a very strong, cloying smell - air freshner or insect/fly killer - while we ate. It was very unpleasant.
The hotel amenities 'suggests' that it has a restaurant. We only saw menus for bought in ready meals of various sorts and no evidence of any chefs, cooks or anyone with catering skills. In fact, we saw no evidence of hospitality skills during our whole visit.
We left and will definitely never visit this hotel again. This is the only bad experience we have had in any of our visits to the lovely Roses, its hotels, restaurants and shops. We will be back to Roses but never to the House Beach Hotel which won't stay in business for long with the total absence of service of any kind.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, I could go on and on about quite how bad it was but not sure there is enough space, so will just keep it simple. Rude staff, disgusting breakfast, terrible location, and less than basic rooms - I have seen better hostels. Absolutely awful overall. Only good thing I can say is that there were decent hangars in the wardrobes!!
