Not many reviews on here for these excellent little Villas. They deserve one, so here goes… We booked a Sol Ric Villa online for the first week of September 2012 through Travel Republic. We were not disappointed, exactly what myself and my young family wanted (travelled with wife and two sons aged 4 and 2). Got a very good price (280 quid for 6 nights), so very pleased. Nice quiet 'urban' (suburban) location, mainly Spanish families in the nearby area. Car parking out front of your villa (you will need a car if you plan to stay here). Nice big shared swimming pool across the road. Torre Vella is a little bit elevated, so nice sweeping views across the Spanish countryside (a little obstructed in places by other homes). Estartit is 4 km away with a decent beach and many of the facilities provided by a big'ish Spanish Resort. Supermarket is just 0.5km away. Our favourite part of this coastline near Begur (Aigiau Blava, Tamariau, Llafranc, etc.) is easily accessible from here in 20 minutes by car. Very beautiful and good snorkeling / bathing. The villas are little terraced town houses. Open plan kitchen, dining, living room and outside patio (plus a WC cloakroom) on the ground floor. Two bedrooms, a bathroom (another WC) and a balcony on the second floor. It's not grand, but is functional enough, with plenty of space and very clean. 3 bedroom villas are available too I believe. We picked up our keys from the reception in the Festamar hotel in Estartit, who own these villas (at least some of them). They didn't ask for a deposit, the presentation of our pre-paid accommodation voucher from Travel Republic was enough for them (printed from the internet). The villas have a microwave, large fridge, hob and w/machine. Plenty of cooking utensils. plates, bowls and cutlery provided. Just take rubbish to the big shared bins that are scattered along the larger roads around here (the same system as encountered in other areas of Spain). We had a very nice stay. The kids loved the pool (which was just a bit cold at first when getting in, but fine). Don't stay here if you want the hustle and bustle of a resort. Torre Vella has nothing except a small (good) restaurant on the hill and a supermarket. Do stay here if you want a well located base close to a large resort, but very quiet locally.
