Located on the outskirts of Girona, on a hill overlooking a large part of the city, the Hotel Palau de Bellavista Girona is a very interesting option for those looking for tranquility without giving up proximity to the historic center. From the first moment, it stands out for its attentive, friendly, and professional service, the kind that makes your stay easier without being overly noticeable.
The rooms are spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Some enjoy good views over the city, an added value especially at dusk. The bathrooms are also generous in size, although they still retain traditional bathtubs. It is probably one of the aspects with the greatest room for improvement at the establishment, since a modern shower would be more practical, efficient, and comfortable for most guests.
On this occasion, we did not use the breakfast service, so we cannot evaluate its offering. On the other hand, we did appreciate an important advantage: the parking. Being outside the center, this aspect is perfectly resolved and avoids many of the usual complications of Girona. The city center is accessible by walking in a few minutes, although it is worth remembering that you have to walk back up afterwards. The reward comes at the hotel itself, with a pleasant terrace and pool from where you can enjoy magnificent views over Girona, especially attractive at sunset and during the night. A comfortable, quiet hotel with a privileged location to contemplate the city from another perspective.

I was slightly misled by the website which said the hotel was near the city center and so I booked it for that reason. What the website did not say was that the hotel was located on a hilltop above the city center which is a 10 to 15-minute walk away. Not a great problem if you are fit but if you are getting on it means a strenuous uphill walk back. Going out incurred a taxi bill to return. Having said that the room was OK as should be expected from a four star hotel although I don´t recall seeing a safe. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked and there was even a bathtub. Breakfast cost a hefty €16 and as there are no places nearby I ended up having it in town. The bar area was comfortable and we ate there both nights watching World Cup football with other guests. There is a tiny swimming pool and a huge deck area for sunbathing with a great view of the city and sunset. However, it was ruined for me by the endless pop music that was pumped out. Staff were helpful and friendly. Overall, not a bad place but I would choose somewhere more convenient next time.

Well, the hotel is generally good, the location is very good with impressive views of Girona; the downside is if you have to walk up to the top; two drawbacks: there was an outlet on one side of the bed and not on the other side, at night there is a very uncomfortable light flash that bothers even with your eyes closed (fire alarm?) and the last issue was that the power went out and they did not notify; the rooms are spacious and the furniture is a bit outdated.
