Tried to go to the restaurant for lunch and the old waiter a bold dude literally yelled at me that he did not had a table Then told him a only wanted a coffee he yelled again, like a total animal Super rude, he shouldn’t be working there

We had a fantastic meal at a very reasonable price. We chose one of the set weekend menus for 14 euros, which includes starter, main meal, dessert, wine, bread and water. There is a good choice of dishes of what I would call good honest food, nothing fancy but very tasty , well presented and big portions. It was seven of us and we all had something different. The service was also very good (we did not have to wait and everything was perfectly timed ) the waiter was very friendly and the restaurant is very comfortable, big tables, lots of space and a cool room despite of the extremely hot weather outside. We had some extras, cokes, beers etc and the bill for seven people was 126 euros.

It is a lovely old building, but the rooms are very basic. Our room had air conditioning and tons of storage space. The bed was very comfy, but the furniture was ancient. It has a lift which is remarkable in such an old three story building. It has free car parking and is an excellent location. It has a big restaurant which offers an appetising lunchtime menu, but unfortunately we didn't try it as we booked for the excellent Amb els 5 Sentits restaurant, which was one of the main purposes of our trip. The staff were very helpful and the WiFi worked well. Unfortunately the swimming pool was out of action for the season, but nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and will be back as it is a very affordable way to enjoy beautiful Besalu.
