Husa Gran Ultonia

Nice hotel and a good location. The independence square is two blocks away which has several restaurants and bars. The room was comfortable and had a mini fridge, coffee pot, and safe. No drawers and short on shelves and hangers. Good variety of food for breakfast.

The hotel is located in an excellent location very close to the central plaza where you find a lot of restaurants and a bridge that crosses over to the old town area. The way they explained it when we booked, is that they have an old section and a new section. You know you're reserving in the new section if you book the Gran Ultonia, which is what we did. The room was nice, very comfortable Nice bathroom with an amazing shower. Breakfast was no what we expected from a hotel in Spain. The staff had a bit of an attitude and the food was not that great. We only went once. They do have parking for a fee. It's easily accessible from the elevators in the hotel. The parking is underground. You go down a twisted and narrow ramp. It's not located by the hotel, you have to drive there. The instructions were not very clear, but we made it.

My wife got hurt getting off the train on the way. The desk clerk saw us hobble in at night. I figured out I need to get a car for the rest of the trip, and arranged it for the morning - on leaving the hotel I mentioned to the same front desk clerk that I wanted to bring the car, and leave it in their multi level garage for at most two hours - at first she suggested I pay for overnight or find another place to park. She then consulted with the manager, apparently to decide how to make a bad situation more stressful - when I had the car, I should stop in front of the hotel, and maybe they would be able to find me a spot, but for an hour - I told my wife to pack herself as they were making this complicated. I waited until a spot opened in their loading zone - and another clerk objected to me leaving the car unattended. I told him to have it towed if he wanted.I am not a young man - all I asked for was a place to put the car for the couple of hours left till check out. Too hard, apparently. This place is bad mojo.
