Off Grid Girona is ideal for an XL weekend and is easily reachable from Barcelona by car in under 2 hours. Ideal for relaxing and unwinding. However, you should not come with an electric car like we did. Because there is no charging station at the hotel. The one in Besalu was out of order, so we had to waste the entire afternoon finding a charging station in the area. This is, of course, somewhat suboptimal as a start to a relaxing weekend. However, the "Community Dinner" with the other guests of the resort was very inspiring. The dishes were not exactly top class, and the order of the dishes was a bit unorthodox (the salad came last). But the table was nicely set, and what mattered was the mutual exchange. The breakfast was also not very varied, but everything that was available was fresh and delicious! The staff at the resort were all friendly and dedicated. We had a suite with a sensational view of the beautiful landscape from the balcony. The pool is also a highlight; fortunately, the resort is adults only. Because it is quite deep, that would not be suitable for kids. We hope to be able to travel back to this wonderful hideaway soon, but we would choose spring or autumn then. Because there is no air conditioning in the rooms for reasons of monument protection. And in the hot June of 2026, it was already a bit too warm for me in the room at night, although the fan was running at maximum.

Off Girona is a great concept and it’s a beautiful building - however the our experience was tainted by very average / disappointing food at dinner which at a price point of 48€ a head was also quite expensive for what it was in contrast with food available at other nearby restaurants. It is also a set menu - with no alternative available if a course is not to your liking . They did however manage to cater for one of our party who has a nut allergy . The breakfast offer was also not great - limited fresh fruit choice ( which often ran out ) and limited cereal choice ( with no nut free cereal available ) no fresh milk available for tea or coffee ( only uht) , and on our final Morning they ran out of both fresh juice and yogurt . No cooked food available. Again for the price the breakfast offer was disappointing. I am sure they will manage to sort all These issues out .
