S'Agaro Mar

I used to travel a lot as a child to Spain with my parents. Wanted to show my husband how nice Spain was. The hotel was ok, nice breakfast and friendly staff. I booked the hotel for two nights, but decided to booked one day a head, so we can enjoy and stay for more nights. By the way , we did booked with the same name. The reception got really confused as you can imaging. We stayed for a night, next day we somehow had to change our room, must wait for almost a hour. Because, of the two different bookings/ reservation, same company at ..,,agoda “ plus same name. Kind of weird! I guess we’re in Spain -:) At the end we had a nice room, so it was worth it to wait for almost a hour. Es war wirklich klasse, die Rezeptionen waren sehr nett, Bedienung dazu freundlich. Frühstück war auch super 👍🏻

Although it is up on a hill, this hotel has great staff and service. We are in Sant Pol quite a lot and go to this hotel to use the pool. The waiter there, Karim, is very helpful and polite even when he is the only one working and under a lot of pressure. He is left sometimes on his own to deal with all the pool users when having to serve coffee to all the hotel guests that have been in for lunch. Why the hotel can't serve coffee in the restaurant is beyond me. Poor Karim gets run off his feet but remains professional at all times. He also does the cooking for the pool area. Well done Karim. See you in August.

We booked this hotel through Jet2 from Belfast and on arrival we were warmly received at Reception and allocated room 404. When we opened the door to the room we realised immediately that we couldn't possibly spend a week in what amounted to boxroom with no balcony and no view. The bathroom was tiny too. We didn't unpack and went straight back to reception to request a room change or upgrade. We were told that it was not possible that evening and advised to ask in the morning after breakfast. As I am rather claustrophobic I didn't sleep much during our first night. In the morning we asked again and a different receptionist explained that the Jet 2 brochure gave the impression that all rooms including Standard rooms had balconys but this was not the case. She explained that an upgrade to a room with a sea room and balcony would cost an additional 22euros per night. She arranged for us to view two Superior rooms and we settled on room 412 ,paid 132 extra Euros and moved in. From this point we had a marvellous time. Our room was spacious,comfortable and had a huge balcony with a lovely view of the sea. Our only complaint was that our TV didn't work for the last 3 days of our holiday ( I think there was a problem with reception in the entire hotel). We were only slightly annoyed because we were attempting to follow the emerging political situation in the UK on BBC World. The hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill. We could imagine guests with walking difficulties would find it challenging. We didn't mind at all. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning and one of the most picturesque regions we have visited in Spain.A 20 minute walk takes you into a lovely town with all the shopping anyone would want. The beach is really beautiful too. The sea is crystal clear and wonderful for swimming and water activities. Sunbeds and parasols are available for hire but they are expensive at 7 euros for each item per day. ( This has nothing to do with the hotel). The hotel staff were helpful and courteous. The food at breakfast was adequate. The fried egg tray was constantly empty and much in demand. I would have liked some mushrooms and baked beans occasionally but they never appeared. There was plenty of bread,cereal,fresh fruit and cheese available. All in all the breakfast was fine. The buffet in the evening was of an excellent standard. There wasn't a huge choice but the food was good with variety as the week progressed. No complaints except that we like to eat around 6.30 PM and dinner didn't begin until 7.30. Even later for the Friday evening BBQ around the pool. 8pm was the start time! The display of food for the BBQ was outstanding. The meat was fine although a little tough and sometimes undercooked. We enjoyed the evening and the musical entertainment which began at 10 pm. All in all we really enjoyed our week's break in the S'agaro Mar. We had a late pick up on Departure day and staff were very helpful in providing showering/ changing facilities for us. We didn't use the small pool and surrounding area as we loved the beach. We noticed a number of guests enjoyed the peaceful ambient atmosphere around the pool to relax and read during the day. We were sorry to leave but hope to return soon. Next time we will ensure that we request a superior room!!
