August 2024 What seemed to be a good vacation for me and my partner, are marred by the owner of the cumana suites Puerto rico. I did not arrive at the agreed time, I did not even call to give an explanation, 2 hours waiting and we found ourselves abandoned in a place we did not know and with the purchase in the car, in the sun, in an unbearable heat... we had to find another accommodation and cancel this. Now the girl here refuses to give us the money back and admit it was her mistake Fraudster ever again

Please please do not take any notice of the old reviews given on this site. Head over to Booking.com to read more recent reviews. Cumana apartments were bought a few years ago, renovated and are absolutely stunning. Jesus owns the one we stayed in (No. 16). It’s a beautiful apartment just above the beautiful swimming pool and sun loungers. You’ll have a private large terrace with table and 6 chairs, 2 Sun loungers with mattresses and two other loungers plus extra seating. A large parasol and a retractable canopy for shade too. The other apartments are either rented or owned privately and kept to a very high standard. Also outside there is a private washing machine/tumble dryer for your sole use and handy large airers. There’s a stunning new kitchen with all amenities, a large fridge freezer, oven, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker and all the utensils you’ll need. The lounge has a comfortable sofa and a tv. The lounge and two bedrooms are air conditioned with new and extremely effective units. One modern bathroom with loads of towels and both bedrooms have loads of hanging and wardrobe space. The apartment was clean and fresh and Jesus can’t do enough to make your stay wonderful. He’ll even pick you up from the airport and drop you off. You can hear a little noise from the Commercial Cente but as soon as you close the patio doors you can’t hear a thing. It’s a hilly 5-10 minute stroll to many shops, restaurants and bars. I use a walking stick and was absolutely fine. A good 20 minute walk to the beach so we walked there and got a taxi back. Most taxi rides are under €5, drivers are friendly and knowledgeable and speak English. Restaurants to visit; Torro Bravo (40 min walk) to near harbour or €4.15 in a taxi. The best restaurant around and Eddie, Jose, John and the team will give you a warm welcome and the food is excellent. Christina’s in the Commercial Centre is quintessentially Spanish and she’s a lovely friendly lady. 5-7 minute walk from apartments. We will definitely stay again. Everything has been perfect.

On arrival we went to the address on Booking.Com but this was the incorrect address. I phoned the number and was told an email was sent with the correct address. I didn’t receive this. The guy phoned a taxi for us but after 15 mins this didn’t turn up so we walked up 161 steps with our cases. The gate was locked at the top but luckily a man was leaving so he let us in. There were no signs for the reception. We eventually found it but the receptionist spoke little English but she was very nice. The apartments wanted €50 deposit of us which we didn’t know about. We was taken to our room and I have to say I was impressed by it, it was modern and clean. There was free wi-fi and safe and the views of the Center where great. The only downside was that the was a musty smell if you closed all the windows. There are 2 gates to the apartments I would use the one on the right hand side as you face the Center. It took us 10 minutes to get out of the other one as the latch is faulty, it looked like they tried to repair it but it still wasn’t working correctly when we left. My advice is if you book to stay here make sure you have the right address first.
