Hotel Bandama Golf

We travel by camper and often stop for a few days in hotels or apartments with parking and kitchen available. I ask for a late check-in and after 4 days the manager (I think) very kindly gives us directions. The next day a certain Hector, probably the handyman, shows up, who arrogantly tells us that with the camper we should have paid more but it didn't matter anymore, inventing falsehoods about the non-existent rules of parking in the Canaries. We used stoves and dishwashers (as clearly written on the booking information) with our plates, our cutlery and our own pan because unfortunately the kitchen dishes were dirty and greasy and seeing cockroaches everywhere and consequent traps throughout the house we preferred to use our own. The day after our return to the apartment we find post-it notes everywhere that say “do not touch” on the stove, oven and dishwasher. I am sorry because the place deserves but it would need a total extermination and attention to what is proposed. You cannot write on booking that kitchen, stove, dishwasher are available for the use of customers and then prohibit their use.

I wish that I could score 5/5 for this small hotel but 1. The broken gutter at the back of the hotel made a terrible racket throughout a very wet night. (I took the opportunity to see it for myself the following morning - definitely a broken gutter caused all the noise). 2. The room light automatically/mysteriously turned on in the middle of the night. 3. The accommodation isn’t easy to find but it is close to the bus stop. It is completely separate and distant from the golf club. It is quite a distance from restaurants/bar etc., ( car is probably required but food delivery is an option too). On the positive side - the room was modern and the bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet (When it wasn’t raining) despite being very close to reception area. The staff members were friendly and spoke english. Excellent breakfast (additional payment). Guests have the use of a very modern kitchen. Great views i.e Golf course, extinct volcano, distant towns and northern coast.

Excellent one-week stay in this extraordinary place. Magnificent views, top golf course, all managed by beautiful people, smiling, available and caring even with a late departure. Excellent breakfasts. Highly recommended
