This is an excellent hotel and I am disappointed to not be able to give 5 stars but the hot breakfast was the worst I have ever experienced.
First the good. The rooms are modern, clean and feel new. The power shower is excellent and Wi-Fi very strong c200mbps. The room is cleaned daily to a very high standard. The front desk staff are friendly and welcoming.
The hotel location is great. It is next to the bus station and we frequently used busses to get around, including a trip to Caldera de Bandama where we walked around the crater and then had an excellent meal at the bar next to the bus stop.
The old town is ten minutes walk with various attractions worth a visit.
Lots of restaurants nearby but few good ones. Travesia de Tirana and Allende de Tirana were excellent and reasonably priced. Need to book at weekends.
Now the Bad. The hot breakfast was awful. The choice was scrambled eggs, Half a raw tomato with a bit of cheese melted on top, bacon that was reformed chopped ham, reminded me of Spam, baked beans and Spanish omelette. However it wasn’t so much the choice that was bad it was that the food was cold and didn’t get replenished.
For example we arrived for breakfast at 09:15 to find remnants of hot food left, the beans were crusted over and had turned brown, there was one tomato also way past its best, no omelette, an no bacon. There were lots of people in the restaurant and it was open for another hour and a half, so we waited. Finally some new bacon was brought out but the other dishes remained untouched an hour after we first saw them. Clearly no one else was going to eat such awful food and the manager wasn’t going to provide fresh food.
Very very disappointed,we tried breakfast three times and every day the “hot” food was terrible.
In summary, great hotel, terrible hot breakfast.
