San Jorge

San Jorge is a small apartment block of 8 apartments. No pool but only approx 50m from the beach. There is no reception so you must remember to call when you land to arrange for Tony (who is lovely) to be there to let you in as security is tip top. The rooms themselves are large and all have balconies however you want the top floor to benefit from the evening sunshine. The apartments are quite old but kept clean and 'interestingly' decorated with cleaning, towels and sheets changed twice in the week we were there. San Augusin itself is a quiet resort with a number of large all inclusive hotels and a lot of apartments however it caters for the long term Scandinavian market. As such there is only one restaurant on the beach (El Capitan). You need to go to the shopping centre for a bigger selection of eateries, all of which are cheap but decent. Playa de Ingles is walkable (approx 30 mins) which has everything. The market at at San Fernando on a Wednesday morning is good fun and caters for the tourists so a few bargains can be had. Overall San Jorge is a decent cheap alternative to the large expensive hotels in the resort so ideal for those on a budget.
