Despite having booked and paid for our stay over a year in advance - they cancelled our reservation with a weeks notice with no explanation as to why. Yes I got my money back and I ended up with a better place for less money, but simply not acceptable to disrupt customer plans with a week to go before arrival.

The staff are generally friendly; but the hotel is run down and in poor condition. The room showers are a painted cement pad with most of the paint coming off. To use the safe in your room, it’s another 2.50 per day. Rooms have coffee makers, but you have to get your own coffee and cream from the corner store down stairs. Ear plugs are required if you want any sleep. The hotel across the street starts blasting dinner show music at 7 PM until past 10, the club at the Yumbo center goes from 2 until 5, and the construction jack hammers start at 8 AM until 6PM.

Although I would consider this accommodation extremely basic, you aren’t going to get closer to the Yumbo centre, so if you’re going to GC to visit the Yumbo, this is ideal. It isn’t too far a walk from the beach (probably a walk to and a taxi from!), and the staff are great. This is my second time staying here and will book again.
