Barcelo La Bobadilla

I think the title says it all: it is wonderful there. It is an ideal place to disconnect, to immerse yourself in the calm and silence that preside over a magical, beautiful space where everything works well, almost to perfection. It is difficult to find fault with a place where, if one must start somewhere, the breakfasts are so extraordinary, with bread, oil from local olive groves, muffins, and bread made at a bakery three or four kilometers away, and an impressive variety and quality of products. After breakfast, there is time to enjoy many things: bike rides or horseback riding, relaxing in the pools, and various activities for children are good options to spend the morning, a phase of the day that is very pleasant to end at the El Mirador restaurant. Bright and with a mix of elegance and casualness, it offers a varied menu where it is hard not to choose well. In the afternoon, a break is necessary in rooms that lack nothing: they have a terrace, a living room, a television with a lot of channels and platforms, a large bathtub... A nap is a great option, and rest is guaranteed because not a leaf moves and because the beds are very comfortable. Taking a walk around the spa and then having an appetizer at the bar or playing a game of billiards are excellent preparations for dinner, which can be had at two restaurants: El Cortijo and La Jara. We opted for the latter, and it is a space with incredible views of the Sierra de Loja, in full contact with nature. The menu there is somewhat more sophisticated, but without falling into excess. The product is cared for, and they avoid spherifications and overly avant-garde techniques. The wine list is a spectacle. The service is always very attentive and polite; whatever the client needs, they will have at their disposal as soon as possible, and when night falls, you sleep soundly because there are no motorcycles, cars, or other sources of noise for miles around. And yes, it is an expensive hotel. It is luxury, and those things cost money. But whoever can treat themselves, even if only for a couple of nights, should not hesitate because the experience is unforgettable. I am sure I am leaving things out, but I think that with what has been written, it is already possible to get an idea of how well we were there.

We spent eight nights at Finca La Bobadilla for our honeymoon, and we are so pleased that we chose it. It is one of those rare places where every detail feels considered, yet nothing seems forced. What we will remember most is the people. Every member of staff we met was attentive, courteous, generous, kind, and clearly passionate about what they do. They struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, making us feel welcome and at home throughout our stay. The setting is beautiful in the truest sense of the word. The estate is wonderfully private, with authentic Andalusian character and thoughtful touches everywhere you look: equestrian-inspired decorations, natural materials, beautifully maintained gardens, and subtle ambient music. The food exceeded our expectations every single day. It was delicious, varied, and fresh, and we particularly enjoyed discovering regional dishes and local wines. The atmosphere was made even more special by the live performances of Spanish guitar classics. One of the greatest luxuries of the estate is the space. We loved walking the different trails, each with its own character, through olive groves and rolling Andalusian countryside. The grounds are vast and full of wildlife, we regularly saw rabbits, partridges, and many others, which made every walk feel a little different. Horse riding was another highlight of our stay. I rode four times with María, Paloma, and Cristóbal. I especially appreciated the variety of routes and experiences, as well as the care they showed both to the horses and to their guests. Our stay was everything we had hoped our honeymoon would be: peaceful, beautiful, and deeply restorative. We left with wonderful memories and already hope to return one day.

We recently stayed in the two-bedroom Grand Cortijo Suite. It gave our family of five plenty of space and was really comfortable throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating from start to finish, and everyone enjoyed the spacious pool area. Granada is only about an hour away, which made it easy to fit in a visit to the Alhambra during our stay. The food was great overall, though we did wish there were more family restaurant options. It wasn’t possible to get food by the pool, and only one dinner restaurant on the property allowed children. We did the special barbecue event one night, and while the food was delicious, we did feel it was overpriced. Breakfast was great and offered plenty of hot and cold options each morning. The true family highlight was horseback riding one evening. The staff did an excellent job assessing everyone’s experience level and tailoring the ride accordingly. The horses themselves were beautiful. It was a great way to see more of the property! Overall a wonderful stay, and we’d recommend it to other families looking for a mix of relaxation and activities in Andalusia.
