El Geco Verde

We travelled as a family of four including two teenage sons and we all loved El Geco! The hotel has an impressive position on top of a small hill and is beautiful, outside and inside. The swimming pool was lovely and clean and the activities on offer were all great. The 4x4 Segway experience and rock climbing were particular favourites. The farm tour on offer was also very enjoyable. Everyone enjoyed the evening meals served, all tasty and varied. Breakfast was basic - cereal and toast with a selection of jams but no less satisfying! The coffee served was delicious. The host family are absolutely lovely, all in all a perfect stay!

Lovely family run hotel in a beautiful area of the Spanish Altiplano region. The views from the accommodation are fantastic and the peace experienced whilst sat on the terrace overlooking the mountain ranges of Castril and the olive and almond groves is unrivalled. Des and llaria are perfect hosts and went above and beyond to ensure my friend and i had a wonderful holiday. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable and the added advantage of mesh window screens ensured we could have a cooling night breeze without the bother of mosquitos. Des sugested a number of scenic hikes and there is plenty to see and do in the area. All in all the personal touch of the owners is a real find and makes all the difference to a holiday, i would recomend El Geco Verde without hesitation.

A great place for families in a very out-of-the-way part of Andalusia. Lovely pool (not shown in the pictures here but a really nice space!), comfortable and spacious rooms and good food. Ilaria and Des provide so much wonderful information about things to do in the area and arrange everything for you. There is a great range for families with different ages and levels of adventure/activity. We enjoyed horse riding, walks, wild swimming, kayaking and SUP but would have loved to try climbing or canyoning with bigger ones. Also plenty of ways to be lazy in the heat, too - lovely local pool, nearby towns and restaurants.
