Parador de Ayamonte

The staff is super friendly, and the rooms are immaculate every day; perhaps the only downside is a somewhat limited menu in the café.

We had a very happy stay. The room was delightful and the meals were yummy. (Try their deep-fried aubergine bar snack and their pigs' cheeks in the restaurant.) It was wonderful to be back in Spain. My partner is in a wheelchair. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, taking so much of the strain off me. Thank you to everyone involved. We'll be back again soon!

My stay at this Parador left me feeling bittersweet. At 8:45 in the morning there was already enough cleaning noise in the corridors, something that completely breaks the tranquility that one expects in an accommodation of the network of Paradores de Turismo de España. When requesting a late checkout, fully understanding that there were many customers coming in that same day, the attitude of the person at reception was not especially friendly or facilitating. It cannot always be granted, but the way of communicating it is also part of the experience. Breakfast was again quite scarce compared to other Paradores: few details, feeling of little restocking and a very fair offer. In addition, the attitude of many of the staff did not help improve the experience, conveying some distance with the customer. What is most surprising is that, reviewing Tripadvisor, you can read for years similar comments about the limited breakfast. It is unfortunate to note that, despite the opinions of guests, this aspect does not seem to have improved. A network with the prestige of Paradores deserves to take much more care of these details. I will remain Friends with certain Paradores but I am hurt by people who are forced to do their work for money alone. Definitely much to work on in the leadership of this Parador.
