Monte Alba

We already knew the hotel, this is our 3rd stay in 12 years.. And it has not been as good as other times. The rooms, the cleaning service, and the front desk, as always... Very good. This time the dining room failed. The food was very repetitive... The meat was generally not tender enough and sometimes very dry, fruit was very scarce at meals (pears and apples are NOT appetizing fruit in the summer) and there was only melon 1 day (there was some at breakfast) and watermelon 3 (out of 14 meals), in the end for 2 days there were nectarines, but they were NOT tender, rather overripe and some already rotten in certain areas. We had to eat the same little cake for the last 3 days (no other variety was restocked). There was also a lack of ice cream for after lunch, as dessert. The juice at breakfast was too industrial and I usually have green tea and there was none either. (YES in the cafeteria, although it ran out 3 days before our departure and was NOT restocked... I understand they were closing on August 31st, but tea does NOT expire in 3 months).. The service was very attentive, but could not fix the kitchen's shortcomings. I think we will NOT return.. This opinion is shared by the other 2 couples (we were a group of 6 people).. A shame. Best regards, LLorenç

It is the third time we have gone to that hotel in the summer. The establishment is located in a very quiet environment and you can get around with ease. But, the hotel needs some improvements in beds, furniture, etc., that show the passage of time and in some cases, lack of maintenance, the terrace and room doors do not fit, deteriorated paint, etc. On the other hand, the buffet needs a review by those in charge. Little variety, repeated dishes, some dishes very overcooked or lacking "flair". Little fruit at lunch and dinner and no sugar-free products. To top it all off, the picnic sandwiches we requested one of the days had exactly 4 slices of chorizo. Just like that. The kitchen managers should review these details, which in the end add up or subtract. As for the hotel staff, outstanding, especially the entertainment staff, Arancha and Elena.

The hotel is very nice with great views, the room very cozy, and the heated pool very adequate. The buffet, although also good, could improve the fruit, as there was little variety and it was either too green or too ripe. And the desserts were all store-bought, always the same ones. The french fries and the vegetables were all frozen. The breakfasts were very good. The menu for the children was ideal; mine ate well every day. The outdoor parking was also very good. In my overall assessment, I would return on another occasion.
