Lovely location, helpful staff but having no hot water for 4 days was not what you expect, we were not informed of this at check-in and once we could use the shower the water flowed under the door flooding the toilet and area near the sink also the water in the sink wouldn't drain away and nothing was done about it if it wasn't for these issues we would certainly recommend this hotel as the food was lovely but it really did impact on our holiday

Lovely hotel ..great staff .. food great… even for fussy eaters… perfect location…hot water was a big issue but they have resolved it now.. wouldn’t stop us from returning… didn’t see any towel wars as mentioned lots of subbeds still after 9am

We arrived at the hotel at 1pm. On arrival we were told that we could not access our room until 3pm as this was the time of check-in and our room wasn't ready. However, other couples arriving at the same time were given access to their room on arrival. We were told to leave our luggage in the reception area. This was not in a secure, locked room. We had to sit in the pool area in our travel clothes and there was no facility to change into more suitable clothes. At 3pm I asked reception for access to the room, to which I was told we could not go into the room until 4pm. The staff were rude simply stating "check-in is between 3-4pm". No apologies were offered. When finally getting into the room it was dirty. There were lots of hairs in the shower tray (video'd this so couldn't upload on review) the toilet area was dusty and the toilet was unclean. The room was dusty and there was lots of wear and tear. We did complain to the rep about the above but it never improved and we did not ask to move rooms as whilst waiting to go in our room, several other guests told us that they had had no hot water for days. Other issues included -Ants in bedroom (we were on the 1st floor) - Foul smell in the room that remained all week, which seemed to come from the air con - dirty plates laid out in the dining room every lunch and evening meal. One night I had to ask to clean my hands as I had picked up a very dirty plate - the soft drinks machine wasn't working one lunch time and when I asked the waitress for help she threw her arms up and said "no broken" and walked away. This also happened to other guests - £10 per pool towel deposit which was ridiculous given they are old basic small towels - the hotel generally appears run down and worn i.e stained carpets, broken doors and locks, hand dryers not working etc - not told we were entitled to 1 ala carte meal at check-in, we googled this luckily -empty glasses not collected regularly around pool side. Had coffee at 10.15 and the cup wasn't collected until after lunch at 1pm -unable to use coffee machine in dining room at lunch and evening meal as the machine is covered behind blinds - half of the toaster not working in dining room which caused large queues and wasn't resolved all week despite staff being aware - all chairs in communal areas are plastic and uncomfortable. The chairs in the rooms are the same -cushions on poolside egg chairs are dirty and ripped -general atmosphere was gloomy as many guests were complaining about the state of the hotel and having no hot water all week Overall, the hotel is dirty and run down. We found staff unhelpful and rude at reception and in the dining room. The interior is supposed to be boho but actually feels very basic. We did not feel this was a 4 star stay and indeed wished we had paid several hundred pounds less to stay in the 3 star hotel up the road. Anything good about this holiday was everything outside of the hotel unfortunately.
