Paraiso Beach

As with all my reviews they are my own opinion. Sometimes I wonder if I stay in the same place as some on here for the same hotel but here goes ……… Basically the reason we chose this hotel was the price - cheap (for Ibiza). We’ve stayed in Portinax, Saint Eulalia and Calalonga before and know the Island well. Right, hotel was OK. Rooms were well air conditioned, clean, comfortable, towels and linens changed regularly with good showers. We had pool view rooms and could also see the sea. The patio doors need looking at as our handle was dodgy. We reported it and she just came up and forced it. The staff seemed ok. Quite serious but to be honest we didn’t have too much to do with them. The breakfast was good, plentiful, lots of choice, good coffee machine. We also could have the brunch from 10-1 all included in the holiday price. We did see a sign saying brunch was €20 if you just walked in off the street. In my opinion it’s not worth that. Our breakfast leftovers topped up with a few bao buns and decent Greek yogurt which they didn’t serve earlier. Nasty Nestle pots at breakfast yuk! Communal areas were cool temperature and bar area was ok although it’s not the type of bar you can sit in and enjoy a drink.Drinks were good. Sangria and cocktails. The pool was not a nice place. Water was warm and it looked murky. Not what you needed in 90 degree heat. My husband wears a swim top due to skin cancer and the lifeguard asked him to remove it before knowing why and he had worn it on the previous day and said nothing. The chemicals in the pool stained the swim top green and also the white on my son’s swim shorts. Won’t come out of either and both expensive to replace. The sun beds were hard and the 3 “deluxe” beds were only for customers who were spending a certain amount. The music was AI generated garbage and the whole area was grim. In one week we used the pool 3 times choosing to walk to EsCanar beach or Cala Nova which in the intense heat says a lot. The padel grunting did not bother us or the TV signal not working all week! In all I guess you get what you pay for. In this case a bog standard hotel but in a great location. We will definitely return to Ibiza and even to Es Canar but not to the Paraiso.

In a good location in Es Canar. Clean rooms, a good breakfast with brunch included for €15 per person per day. Pool a decent size although very warm for an outdoor pool. Sun beds very damaged and need replacing. For our group, what let the hotel down were the unfriendly staff. A couple of the staff were very pleasant, but many simply refusing to help, such as ordering a taxi, or handling complaints. My elderly mum was with us, and rather than try and book a taxi (which one nice girl did without questioning) , they suggested we walk to the taxi rank. Which would not be possible for our mum. As a good half mile away. I’ve stayed in es canar several times in the last few years and never come across such hostile and unhelpful staff. Our biggest issue aside from the inconsistent staff was the smoke smell through out the corridor and rooms. We complained twice, and were told all rooms were none smoking, but the very strong smell in the rooms persisted. At night this came through the vents for the air con. For the money we spent on the holiday and in the hotel with food and drinks, we were lot made to feel welcome at all.

Great central location, very clean, pool perfect, friendly staff. Breakfast offers a variety for everyone and added bonus with brunch till 1pm. Only downside i would say are the sunbeds they are in need of replacing.
