We visited in October 2014 for a week and we were really pleased with this little gem of a hotel. We got a last minute all inclusive deal and were a little bit wary when reading other reviews. I would say go with an open mind. It's a lovely, quiet little resort and if you're looking for a chill out holiday then this is the place! Portinatx is a beautliful place with the most stunning beaches. The water is crystal clear and remains shallow a good distance out. It was quiet when we were there but the weather was lovely and it was a real treat to have the beach pretty much to ourselves. It is a quiet resort so bear that in mind. Not the place to go if you're looking for a party holiday. That said, there are a couple of really nice bars on the walkway around the beach coves. The Voodoo Lounge is a really nice place to sit overlooking the bay with a cold beer or a cocktail. We took an visit to San Antonio and took a boat ride out to watch the sunset which was lovely. It was good to see other parts of the island though the hustle and bustle of San Antonio made me really happy to get back to the peace of Portinatx. The hotel itself surpassed our expectations. The variety of drinks available through the all inclusive was great. For a three star resort the food was fantastic. You could have freshly cooked omelettes and eggs at breakfast and at lunch and dinner the chefs would cook fresh meat/fish. Our room was relatively basic but it was clean and had everything we needed as we were only using it as a base for sleeping in. The bathrooms were lovely and looked recently refurbished. The hotel grounds are compact but well kept and the pool area was great for lounging by with a book and a drink. The bar area was very inviting with a lovely terrace. There was entertainment provided twice during our week long stay but we didn't watch so I can't comment on it. The people working in the hotel were very efficient if not overly friendly. The girls working in the dining room ensure the place was kept running smoothly. We never had to wait for any meal service but that may be partly due to when we stayed (first week in Oct). Overall, we were more than happy with our stay and would gladly visit Portinatx again in the future as it remains one of the most beautiful places we have seen.

went to the groupotel in June & it was the worst holiday ever. There was no entertainment in the day or night, there would be football on the tv in the bar in the evenings & that would be it. The hotel staff was so rude & unhelpful. One restaurant staff was arguing with my family member in the middle of the restaurant in front of guests because she had a coke for a drink during breakfast. Room was tiny, had a view of a brick wall in our room, but then got moved to a pool view room when we complained. Would never recommend this hotel to anybody. Worst holiday of my life !!

We arrived in the pouring rain, our room was not ready and when it was ready we found the lobby area was flooded. The rooms were very small, the bathroom had limited space and the rooms with a bigger bathroom had smaller room space. Sky tours took our rep away two days after we arrived. To go on a tour there was a walk of about one mile, I noticed guests at other hotels got picked up at their hotels. The trips also seemed to take place during meal times which reduced the AI element and no packed lunches were offered. On our last but one day the fire alarm went off at 06:30 good job a UK Firer Fighter was present. On the last day we requested a wake up call which did not happen when I asked why I was told by the receptionist he was too busy he offered us coffee and cake the coffee was cold and the cake was not edible.
