Marco Polo

Stayed at Marco Polo 1 last year, next door and that was much better. Avoid number 2 if you want a party hotel. Had bangs on the door at 11pm to turn off music, which was not even loud. Room was quite dirty and beds were changed once throughout our stay. The shower barely worked and was either boiling hot or freezing cold. The pool area is a lot quieter compared to number 1 but u are able to use both. Security were often checking peoples rooms. The balcony had no table and was very small, you could barely fit two people on. The breakfast was also not nice and there was only a few options so we have this is a miss. It is a good place to stay for a party hotel, however book number 1 if you want more going on and you don’t want noise complaints lol. It’s a really short walk to the taxi rank and shops. Also an easy 15 min walk to things like obeach and the strip. Main clubs arent far away in a taxi and you also have the disco bus very close by. Our fuse board also kept going meaning we were in darkness most evenings. When I told reception they eventually came to fix it and I was told “ if it happens again try flicking the switches”. I was a bit concerned as I didn’t want to blow myself up. Overall, I’d give this hotel a miss. It feels a bit abandoned and run down. I’d book others like Marco Polo 1 or hotel Puchet next year.

We stayed there last year and thought that it was overall fine for what we were looking for - it’s cheap, clean and a good location for taxi’s and food. However after our trip this year we will not be back. Staying in the San Antonio area it is obviously expected to be a “party” destination with lots of young people who are excited. As expected you could hear other groups music at night coming from their rooms, not an issue at all, as when you’re getting ready for a night out you expect to have music on and drinking. The issue was that every night we were repeatedly told to turn our music off by the security guard, yet other rooms still played it. Either ignoring the request from security or not being told to turn it off. As a group we felt it was unfair that we were constantly told to turn it off and threatened with kicking us out the hotel because numerous “people” had made complaints about us. To be honest I can’t exactly see any of our surrounding neighbours to be complaining considering you hear all their music blaring from rooms and the hallways and the fact that you are in Ibiza, in a party hotel. Previous stays haven’t been this way and was always allowed the music, think it’s changing but not for the good.

I could not fault this hotel, I am being honest, I had read previous reviews and was very apprehensive as what to expect ! IGNORE the negativity ! The hotel was great for our stay, clean, choice of pools, friendly and very accommodating reception, great choice of breakfast. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends Great location every thing in walking distance !
