Paradise Beach

I rarely write reviews but felt constructive criticism was needed On arrival at hotel we were greeted with a welcome drink , hotel boutique style My first impression rooms are very small. There is no storage Little Space to hang your clothes. No drawers to fold anything. Room is classed as superior but is very basic clean but nothing special.. we went onto to have a drink in the bar we were half board as we chose not to go all-inclusive because we like to go out and about ,we purchased the local drinks paid for them not a problem the next day when we tried to purchase the local drinks at the bar we were told we had to pay for premium brands as we're not all inclusive when I questioned this they sent the manager. The manager said this is not possible possible for non-all-inclusive guests to purchase the lower price drinks I found this unacceptable so we chose not drink there however we did find out that some drinks that were not premium were being sold so it doesn't make sense The manager gave us a voucher for a meal at pool bar on way of compensation I would have preferred a more sensible explanation as it was not about the cost of the drinks more about the customer being able to choose what they purchase. Bar maid by mistake poured a local drink and when she found out we weren't all inclusive she tipped it down the sink. What an absolute waste of money ! The showers flood the rooms as they are open plan design which is not ideal Small amount of black mould / mildew in shower and toilet The maids all very friendly tidied rooms but did not clean the rooms up the standard. Rooms were clean on arrival but They did not sweep it once whilst we were there they changed the beds once the week and they did change the towels daily. There was a smell of drains on an evening in the bar area which leads up to upstairs restaurant which was very unpleasant Food was very good grea choice , nice and clean food stations were kept beautifully waiters in the restaurant were very friendly. and efficient. Paul area is tired and needs updating. No reasonable steps to get in. Decking was heat conducive so impossible to walk bare foot on Pool area was hosed each morning but not swept as there was debris by beds when I arrived & still there when I left . Requested the late checkout(, obviously at a cost) friends had.same amount of time in their room they were charged €60. We were charged €80 for the same checkout? we' questioned it we were told the cheaper price was a mistake we were refunded the different but the whole hotel seemed not to have a regular pricing structure . We experienced the same when purchasing drinks . This hotel is no where near the quality of other Barcelo hotels we have stayed in . Area is cute, however overall there is very little going on which is a terrible shame This could absolutely perfect just in need of some structure and updating Had a great holiday faults aside .

This hotel was a hidden gem on the beautiful side of the island. The design of the building itself is such that it feels small and does not impose on the natural environment. It does however offer everything you might find at a large establishment. As soon as you walk into the reception area it feels like a breath of fresh air, it’s comfortable and cool, there is a tranquility, with clean lines and efficient service. The staff are kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped, with comfy beds and excellent shower. Breakfast is delicious with lots of fresh food options, several types of egg, bread, pastry, cheese, fruits, juices etc. The pools are beautiful, clean and the water is a nice temperature (quite warm actually). There is a sandy beach right across the street from the hotel or lots of beautiful little coves a short drive away. We were there for the weekend but I wish we could have stayed the whole week.

My wife and myself enjoyed 5 peaceful days at Barcelo Portinatx in late June. We loved relaxing around the upper pool and enjoyed the cocktails from the pool bar taking advantage of the All Inclusive option which we thought was worth every penny. We chose not to use the nearby beach as the pool area seems so much calmer and appealing. The food from the pool bar was excellent as was the breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The bar and restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. We had a Superior Room with Sea View in C Block. It was clean and did everything we needed it to. We had a really lovely 5 days and would definitely stay again if we ever returned to North Ibiza. We chose not to head into Portinatx itself as there didn't seem to be anything there we wanted to do or see.
