We stayed at Axel Beach Ibiza, and overall, our experience was very positive, despite a few points that could be improved. Upon our arrival, our room was not yet ready. The hotel seemed to strictly enforce the official check-in time of 3 PM, without even checking if the room was available before that time. Finally, we had the pleasant surprise of being able to access it around 2 PM. The reception could, however, be better organized. Upon our arrival, there was no one at the front desk, and we waited nearly 15 minutes before realizing that we needed to find an employee in the back. A more constant presence at the counter would certainly improve the customer experience. We had a corner room that offered a spectacular view of the sea and the city. It was equipped with a convenient kitchen. However, it is good to know that there is no dishwasher. Fortunately, the staff is willing to do the dishes, provided they are not excessively dirty. The location of the hotel is one of its greatest assets. Situated directly by the sea, it allows easy access to the beach, as well as a multitude of restaurants, shops, markets, and stores within walking distance. The air conditioning in the room is very effective, which is particularly appreciated during the hot days in Ibiza. The bedding is also very comfortable. One small detail: only one light sheet is provided for sleeping. If you prefer an extra blanket, you just need to ask for one at the front desk. The outdoor pool is very pleasant, and the adjacent bar offers an excellent selection of drinks, with or without alcohol, in a friendly atmosphere. At the time of departure, we did, however, experience a somewhat disappointing situation. The manager informed us that a bottle of gin from the refrigerator had been consumed, which was completely inaccurate. The refrigerator is, by the way, well stocked, and all consumptions are charged. I therefore recommend carefully checking your bill at the time of departure to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Finally, a word about the clientele. The hotel presents itself as "hetero-friendly," suggesting that it primarily caters to an LGBTQ+ clientele while being welcoming to all. However, during our stay, we rather observed the opposite: about 75% of the guests appeared to be heterosexual. This did not change the atmosphere at all, which was respectful and pleasant, but it may be useful to know for travelers who choose this establishment based on this criterion. In summary, we had an excellent stay. Despite a few irritations related to the reception, the management of the refrigerator, and certain aspects of the service, the hotel’s highlights — its exceptional location, the quality of the rooms, the beautiful view, the pool, and the overall comfort — make it an establishment that we recommend without hesitation and where we would gladly return.

If you’re happy to be kept awake by youngsters throwing all night parties in their hotel rooms, playing loud music, shouting and slamming doors until 7am, then you’ll probably enjoy the hotel. I personally prefer to be around people who are a little more considerate to others. I also expect the hotel to intervene, which they didn’t. From the moment we arrived we saw young girls shouting loudly in the reception and a man who was clearly high on drugs, banging the walls with a bottle. This also didn’t seem to cause any surprise to the woman on reception. The hotel has good facilities that I wasn’t able to use or relax in. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

Ideally located on a small beach just steps from Sant Antoni but without the festive drawbacks, the Axel hotel offers a magnificent view of the bay. The rooms are large and quite comfortable, but they have a somewhat impersonal classicism compared to other hotels in the Axel chain. The clientele of the hotel is really the negative point of the stay. Known for being a queer place, we found ourselves surrounded by heterosexual couples but especially by a multitude of girls who came to party or for bachelorette parties. It felt like we were in an alcohol-fueled henhouse, far from the expected atmosphere of the queer world. It's a shame because it somewhat spoils the ambiance.
