If you are staying in Ubeda you must stay here. It's part of the superb Renaissance experience of the city. There are three ground floor rooms (we had 135) which have doors opening onto a beautiful private garden with fountain. It is a magical experience to sit out at anytime with a book and a glass of wine.

Unique location, right in the historic quarter. Be sure to drive directly in front of the Parador to unload the luggage. Less than two minutes away, by the viewpoints, is a very large public parking lot. The check-in was great, the rooms are very large and clean. The lunch and the service are unbeatable.

Back home, as a Friend of Paradores, I booked this one which, like almost all the ones I look for, meets historical and artistic conditions, in this case established in the 16th-century Palace of the Dean Ortega, which he did not live to see built due to his death and was later a national Parador around the year 1930.
Impressive Palace with a 16th-century cloister and only one upper floor presided over and with an elevator, also by a medieval staircase with a polychrome sculpture mirror of the Virgin Immaculate Conception, which, without hands, reflects simplicity on the semi-curved staircase with a crystal lantern of the imperial eagle, King Charles V style. It has parking only for loading and unloading in the historic center and access for the disabled through another door next to the Renaissance Church of San Pablo. Spacious and high palatial rooms with nothing missing. Cafeteria and restaurant service in the heart of the historic center of the city of Ubeda, a ride on a tourist minibus is recommended, better than the uncomfortable and rattling tourist train, which at the same time does not go through narrow streets like the open-top minibus. Good gastronomy and for music lovers, the Bar Calle Melancolía of the famous, beloved Joaquín Sabina, adorned with photos, records, and a musical atmosphere. A square with his birthplace and good people and an atmosphere of good people in Úbeda, stately history, hills, and primordial oil. A wonderful historic city and town.
