Luabay Lanzarote Beach

This is not a 4 star hotel by any means do not book . Location lovely right by beach . But limited other activity. Main issue is food at this hotel .with the very shocking addition of cockroaches front of house in the restaurant. I dread to think what back of kitchens are like . The food is horrendous. No variety limited options and dried out . Considers peak season they are seriously on a budget . It’s the worst I’ve ever experienced. It’s not acceptable to eat with a cockroach. Glasses are hot for cold drinks as well just ridiculous. Only one beer option on all inclusive as well not that it’s a huge issue for us but even so Not a standard 4 star offer . Broken doors to restaurant causing redirected traffic - I don’t think it is broke as no signage to highlight danger to guests - probably to avoid extra cleaning . Pool has black bits floating g around in it - looks like the mould off the ceramic tiles . Need a a thorough clean .little tables by the pool are not cleaned in the morning either all sticky and dirty . Needless to say full complaint made to the hotel who really are not bothered - and yes I was very polite and non agressive e on lodging this - but they don’t care . Escalated to Jet2 who offered to downgrade us with a refund of £86per person - how on earth is that going to feed an adult for the remainder of an already paid all inclusive package . Penny pinching money grabbing hotel . I will not return . I am no snob but believe there are a few basic standards that hotels should offer and decent food with out cockroaches is one of them - be very aware !

Firstly, this hotel is not a 4star. It’s a 3 at best so please bear that in mind when booking. The rooms are basic and a bit dated but overall you only sleep and shower in them so they’ll do. Plenty of beds around the pool and the sun catches you wherever you sit. Pool is decent quite big and no scrambling for beds at the crack of dawn either. Now the food! Honestly the food is terrible. I’ve been here for a few nights now and I just can’t face eating in the restaurant again. I’ve seen better looking prison dinning rooms than the one you have here. It really is drab trust me and the food matches it. Every night there is some sort of stew or casserole I mean who eats that kind of thing when it’s so hot here. The fish is often really dry and the salad bar is really basic and bland. Pizza and chips or vegetable risotto are the safest options. Hotel is in a good location for amenities and lots of good looking restaurants which is handy as that’s where we’ll be eating from now on. Avoid at all costs

Hotel is excellent. 5 mins from the centre. 10 mins from the beach. Hotel is clean and the rooms are basic but spotless. Staff are so friendly and always smiling. Food is good and we never went hungary. The pub on the side is ace, and free if your all inclusive which is a bonus. Enjoyed it so much, returning for Christmas and New Year.
