After being poorly run for several years, and the previous operator being removed, this complex is now called CLUB Guacimeta. It has undergone a great transformation by the individual owners of the apartments and is fresh and revitalised. Although some of the apartments are being used only by their owners, a number of them are available for holiday let. The revitalised Club Guacimeta is a wonderful place located very close to the Beach and all the Pubs and Restaurants of Matagorda - the classy part of Puerto del Carmen. I know I'll continue to go back time and time again.

What can I say found this little place on booking.com for 7 days was only €235 could live here all winter for the low price. We had the pool to ourselves as it was very quiet & the security on the gate to the entry to the place is locked. Unfortunately there was nothing open for drinks or food but for a short walk down a slight hill you was in the center & plenty places to eat. The apartment is basic but its a base with everything you need Inc tv that plays NCIS all day & night lol. But easy access to the pool as 10 feet opposite ask for room 40 you be fine 🙂

Hello, My husband and myself have stayed in the Guacimeta Apartments many times and so far we have always been quite happy there. However, this year it was a little different unfortunately. Due to the Covid crisis we only booked about 3 weeks prior to our arrival early November. Since we were a bit anxious due to the pandemic situation I had sent an e-mail to reception one week before our arrival in order to check whether everything was ok and also to let themknow that we will arrive around midday and enquired about the possibility of leaving our luggage there should we not be able to get into our room yet. I have not received any response to my e-mail. A couple of days after I had sent another e-mail and one day prior to our arrival another one…I have never received any reply, which was a bit worrying for us. A quick e-mail just to confirm that things are in order would have been sufficient for us. On their website it also states that they would like to know when the estimated arrival time is. When we arrived the reception was closed. Luckily, there was a maintenance man around. We approached him and said that we are due to check-in today. He then called someone and passed the phone onto me, so I said that I’m checking in today. He only asked how many people are arriving and if we booked with a booking company. It didn’t seem that they were expecting us there at all. We were then let into our apartment. However, no further information was given. Since we were eager to check-in properly we stayed around the area until we saw someone going into the reception. Then we were finally able to do the paperworks and request a safe key etc. The apartment was nice enough even though the tap in the bathroom was very lose and a light there was hanging down. The fridge needed some time to cool as there was assumingly no one in the apartment for a while. The balcony didn’t look like it was cleaned prior to our arrival. We found out that due to Covid the apartment is only being cleaned once a week on a Friday. We do understand that during those difficult times certain compromises have to be made. However, we still paid for this service and we were ok with the fact that at least once a week our apartment will be cleaned. Unfortunately nobody came on the Friday to clean it! We have stayed there for 8 days and not once were our bed sheets changed; neither was the place cleaned. Two rolls of bathroom tissue were left on our arrival, so that we had to ask at reception (when we were lucky and the reception desk was occupied!) for more. We got new towels once, but that was it. Not once was our rubbish taken out. To be honest, we have also seen the outside area cleaner in previous years. Not to mention the pool which was absolutely freezing cold. The day before our departure we were hoping to get hold of someone at reception to advise that we would be leaving tomorrow and to ask whether it will be possible to leave our luggage on the premises since we had a late flight home. The reception was closed for the whole day. When we left the apartment on departure day we waited outside the reception trying to check-out, but no one was around once again. We called the 24h number that was stated on a sheet outside reception. Someone answered; I had to advise that I wish to check out and he said that he will be coming in a few minutes. After 20 minutes he received and checked us out. We were asked for our accommodation voucher, but we had already provided the same upon arrival. I would also like to mention that my husband and me have always been wearing a face mask, not so the receptionist which I believe he should have, too. Overall, we thought that it was quite a poor performance and left a bit disappointed. We understand that due to Covid things are difficult, but we believe that the guests that still arrive should be appreciated and the service that was paid for should have been provided. I had sent an e-mail with my feedback to the reception, but once again no response. Thank you. Sabrina and Neil Moynihan (Apt. 47)
