Puerto Carmen

Stayed here for a week in may and got ringworm from the swimming pool, so did my girlfriend and best friend it was absolutely AWEFUL and security was terrible, our window wouldn’t close and reception didn’t care, people next to us were infested with ants

Nice place to stay, everything was very well operated. Ten min walk to the beach and lots of bars, shops and places to eat near by. Lidl is next door so that's incredibly handy. Drinks in lidl are basically for nothing. Big downside here was that the pool was ice cold rendering it unusable. Also they were charging €25 euro per device! for the wifi. Charged €15 to use the safe ! Not really fair in my opinion as people seem to spend a good deal of time on the premises drinking and eating. Very good bar on site as well.

Having read some of the more recent recent reviews I admit I was concerned. Frankly, I really couldn't see what the fuss was about and can wholeheartedly recommend the Aparthotel Puerto Carmen. I found all the staff to be friendly and polite, and yes the Spanish do have a sense of humour. The rooms are basic but clean. Yes the beds are hard, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I actually slept very well indeed. Yes, a little DIY TLC needed in spots, but if you wanted 5* go elsewhere and pay for it. So for the money, it is great value, and would recommend to anyone on a budget.
