Metropol by Carris

The room was spacious and the bathroom comfortable, has elevator and reception throughout the day. The staff is friendly and the location is good, outside the center but only 10 minutes from the cathedral. It is a quiet area with parking nearby. It needs some maintenance, there was a damp part of the wall.

We could not go to the hotel because of the death of a close person, hours from going. We contacted the hotel to cancel and see if we could reverse the charge for the 5 rooms, or see the possibility of changing the dates. We are aware that we were late and that the hotel was within its rights not to facilitate the return or change of dates. Still, we expected, in the circumstances, deferential treatment. I didn't. I'm pretty disappointed in what happened. In the circumstances I DO NOT RECOMMEND the hotel. I don't know if the rooms are comfortable or if the staff is nice and professional which they sure are. But given what's happened, I'm not rebooking at that chain in general or that hotel in particular.

The Metropol hotel is a simple and budget hotel. When you value a hotel you have to weigh the price we have paid for the room, in my case less than 50 € per night. If he had paid a higher price, the review would be more severe. This hotel is located outside the wall surrounding the historic center, but close enough to be within a short 10-minute walk. It is very close to the train station. The rooms have no luxury, the furniture is simple and functional. The positive part is that the rooms were previously aparthotel type, so there are two separate spaces, the bedroom and the living room-kitchen (currently the kitchen does not work) The bathroom is small, with a tiny shower and no toiletries are offered except two gel dispensers in the shower and in the sink. As for the cleanliness and attention of the staff I have no complaints. At night there is no one in reception. As for breakfast, it is very cheap (5 €) but of little variety (coffee latte, artificial juice, croissant, york ham and bland cheese slices) In conclusion, an acceptable economic option if we go badly budgeted provided we adjust our expectations to the price we pay.
