Gran Hotel Lugo

Myself & my husband stayed here a couple of weeks ago with a group walking the camino. We were to stay for 3 nights but unfortunately my husband spent 5 nights in hospital while we were there, the group moved on & I had to extend my stay in Lugo. The hotel staff looked after me very well, each one I met was friendly yet professional & a particular mention must go to Juan Carlos who really looked after me around extending my stay there. The bar & lobby area are welcoming & the food is very good. Thank you for your hospitality, I would definetly recommend this hotel. It's also very central.

We spent a few days at this four-star hotel and the overall experience was very good. A very positive point, at least for what we were looking for, is that we requested two rooms close together and we got one right next to the other, connected on the inside by a door (evidently with its latch on each side to maintain privacy). The best thing about the room is its spaciousness and good lighting. We got one with two beds with very comfortable mattresses and an excellent variety of pillows. In addition, we liked the decor a lot and the space comes very complete, with a sofa, desk area, minibar area in the room itself and a good closet (although, in my point of view, a few more hangers would be missing). The cleanliness is impeccable, both in the rooms and in the common areas, and the hotel staff is very pleasant and attentive. Its location is excellent for getting to know the city; it is located in a quiet and safe area to walk at night, and it has easy parking outside in a white zone (free). As points to improve, what we liked least was the layout of the bathroom: the toilet area, despite being separated from the rest of the bathroom, does not have a door, which reduces privacy if two people want to use the bathroom at the same time. On the other hand, I consider that the breakfast buffet could improve in terms of quality and variety, especially in the pastry section. In addition, I missed having an iron in the room itself instead of having to request it at the front desk, something that is usually available directly in other hotels with these same characteristics. Despite these small details, it is a totally recommended hotel for its comfort and location.
