ASUR METROPOL ALCALA

Stayed two nights here, it's a pleasant place with very good staff. The location of the hotel is perfect for day excursions into Madrid by train. The station is just 10min walk from the hotel and it costs about €7 for a return ticket. Takes about 40 mins. There is a huge selection of restaurants just five minutes away from the hotel. Gino's has superb Italian fare. Spend the day in Madrid, return here for a meal and walk back to the hotel, superb way to relax.

We just stayed at this hotel once weekend for lover's day, and early in Sunday morning for our surprise we found the whole entrance of this "hotel" full of working machines: a lorry, cranes and so on. There were a training course on drivinf this machines!! Unbelievable!! Without amo security measure, no control of movement for this stuff among the guests. Never more in life we will visit this hotel nor recommeded.

This hotel is my favorite budget accommodation in Madrid. The name is actually Puerta de Alcala Hotel (I think Metropol was its old name...) Location is fantastic (7 minute walk to La Garena Renfe Station with many good restaurants nearby and a hipercor and Corte Ingles mall a 12 minute walk away). The residential setting is extremely quite and green. Breakfast is very good @ only 5EUR! Rooms are spacious, amazing bathrooms and comfortable beds. WiFi was super fast (faster in fact than most 4 star hotels I stayed in Madrid). Only con is the absence of a tea maker in the room (bring your own).
