Ibis Styles Madrid Prado

I couldn't fault the hotel ,the rooms or staff. It was perfect for our needs being very close to the airport but DO NOT ORDER THE VEGGIE BURGER. If you are vegetarian you will simply go hungry. As usual actually pointing out the item on a menu and expecting it to somehow resemble what arrives on your table is fraught but that it a given but my partner ordered a chicken burger and got a beautiful stack and i got a flat, damp,luke warm patty which i returned to be heated. It came back exactly the same. I am always curious about how much priority smokers get. Hard luck if you don't want to smell cigarette smoke on your way in or out,not just the street outside but inside the main gate where there was a lounge area which we had to get through to enter thr hotel.

This is our second time here. Last time I reviewed this place over a year ago I gave it a five. The reason for a four I would say is because of the price. For not a huge amount more we could have stayed at a four star property. The cost, room only, no breakfast and full payment in advance was £1455 for seven nights. That’s £207 a night room only which is expensive for a three star property. Would have appreciated a Nespresso machine in the room and given two bottles of water for the first night. When this was not replaced the following morning reception should have give us water but didn’t do so and gave us bigger glasses to take up the complimentary water from a large container at reception. At the price we paid that was just a little disappointing. We stayed seven nights. Overall the hotel is good for a three star property but was a bit on the expensive side. We would come again but I will check it against the price of other nearby four star hotels. The location though is absolutely fantastic. Recommended with this caveat.

Ibis Style Prado offers the best in comfort and location. Very comfortable room, spacious bathroom and excellent location. Modern decor, impeccable cleanliness and a varied and always well served breakfast. Not to mention the security guaranteed by the fact that your room card allows the use of the elevator to the rooms i.e., a person who is not a guest has no access. We traveled on foot to various points of interest without the slightest problem. For example for the Thyssen museum that is imperative (attention to the free entry days) and for the Prado museum. If it’s your first time in Madrid, the Hop on Hop off bus is a great alternative for getting an overview of the city. The stop is also near the hotel. Do not fail to use Blue Bus, entirely free is 001 . In it you can get to various points of the city including the entire Famosa Gran Via. When entering just ask for a ticket to the driver, validate on the machine and ready. Its itinerary is easy to access and stops are easy to find. Another advantage of the hotel location is the fact that it is a lively place full of good restaurants. For example, the Lamucca de Prado almost in front of the hotel, offers a pleasant atmosphere and unforgettable croquettes. We went to dinner in Zarzuela which offers opera show. Not pertissimo from the hotel but, with the bus 001 and 10 minutes walk we were already there.. We bought tickets in advance and spent a super cheerful night, great music, very friendly service, efficient and delicious food. If you want a healthy food restaurant, the Honest Greens chain has options for salads with a protein. On Gran Via there is a.A trip to Botino, the oldest restaurant in Madrid, deserves a visit but, do not fail to make a reservation( I did our still in Brazil). The hotel staff is also very helpful and always willing to ask questions and give suggestions. After all, returning to Madrid, the Ibis Styles Prado is the perfect choice.
