I stayed at The Westin Madrid Cuzco on a business trip. Overall, the stay was fine and the hotel served its purpose well enough for work-related travel. The rooms were comfortable, the property was clean, and the location was convenient. That said, the hotel did not feel like a typical Westin. In many ways, it felt more like an upgraded AC Hotel than a property that fully delivers on the Westin brand experience. The biggest disappointment was the service. While staff were professional, they were generally not as proactive, helpful, or genuinely welcoming as I would expect from a Westin. This was noticeable across all areas of the hotel. Another drawback was the breakfast experience. The breakfast room is located in the basement and has no windows, which creates a rather uninspiring atmosphere. It lacks the welcoming ambiance you would hope for at the start of the day. Especially the door to the breakfast room is so noisy and old that should get replaced. For business travelers, the hotel is perfectly adequate and gets the job done. However, I would not choose it for a leisure stay. In this price range, Madrid offers several better options with more character, a stronger service culture, and a more enjoyable overall experience.

The Westin Cuzco was originally an AC Hotel and perhaps it should have stayed as an AC as it did not meet the expectations I had of the Westin standard. It was well located and the staff were professional and attentive but the room was narrow and on a high floor and I expect there were others that were of a lesser standard. There was no meaningful recognition of Bonvoy status other than a higher floor. A relatively good hotel but not to what I expected of Westin. I gave it 3.5.

Check in was friendly and I was upgraded to a nice suite. Most comfortable bed I've had in ages, including at home. Gym was small and not so useful, but OK. I could see it would be crowded during peak times. Breakfast was pretty bad. No eggs except those from the one guy who cooks them and it was very slow. Hot food was not hot and not nice. Breakfast room was crowded and ventilation of the egg cooking is poor. Bar was nice but service was hard to obtain. I usually have low expectations of European hotels and this one was actually better than most because the room was very nice.
