Convento De La Magdalena

I had made a reservation 3 months ago. When I arrived at the hotel it was completely closed down and nobody at the property. I had not received any notice of the closure. Fortunately I was able to get a room at the Parador de Antequera, which is a very nice place.

We came here for a new years celebration and were really upset to see that the hotel has really gotten worse since the last year. 1. New year’s dinner. The meal was nice but the atmosphere was boring - really cold in the chapel, no music and no entertainment, but the cherry on top was an absolutely disastrous Dj - he did everything he could NOT TO LET people dance when they wanted to by putting awful tracks and sooooo loud. 2. Poor breakfast - no vegetables, no omelettes, we had to take our own food at the breakfast… 5 star hotel as they claim it… 3. Spa zone is a mess. Banks in the sauna are so worn out that it leaves stains on your bikinis and towels… children damaged their feet in a tub because of broken parts in it… Definitely it was the last time we came here. Such a pity…

There is a spa in the hotel that is included in the price of the room I booked. In addition to the fact that the pool was freezing water, we felt marginalized and singled out by the hotel's user policy. Upon arrival I asked at reception for information on how to use the spa and they informed me that we have to take down our clothes and change in the spa locker room, as they only provided us with a towel and a hat. I told him to please give us a bathrobe to go down, certainly not in a 5 star hotel. The receptionist reluctantly told us that he didn't know if he would find any (???) but he would try. Of course, he didn't find it, but our surprise was that we found three couples with their respective bathrobes and without hats and another couple who came down dressed and wore the hat. Well, we feel the feeling of feeling like we are in apartheid, discriminated against and humiliated. The next morning, I express my discomfort and the receptionist tells us that the use of the bathrobe is exclusive to guests in suites. I wonder, is it such an expense to wear a bathrobe to go down to the spa without having to point out that you are a fool that you go to a standard room and are visible to others? By the way, the room does not have a 5 ***** category. .
