I’m basing this review on my recent visit to Malaga and on what I can presume is the re model of the hotel. If I’m correct the hotel is now called the Doho hotel and no longer the Venecia? If not please correct me as this wouldn’t be an accurate review.
My wife and I had decided on a long overdue, child free getaway and as Malaga is my favourite city it had to be there.
The hotel is situated on the Main Street right opposite the old town and a 2 minute walk from the harbour area. The location is fantastic.
The hotel has been done up to a really good standard and the room itself was modern and clean with all the amenities expected of this class of hotel. The beds were comfy the room was an adequate size and had your usual amenities like hair dryer, safe (free to use) and a fridge. They do provide water in the fridge, it’s not free. There’s also a smart TV so you can login into your Netflix/amazon accounts etc and watch those should you choose to. The room was spotless. The bed was comfy, pillows adequate. There’s also plug sockets and usb charging next to the beds which are handy. Mind your head in the reading lights, I knocked it a couple of times!
The room was well soundproofed. Our room (forget the number) was facing an internal courtyard so there was no external noise either.
One small note, we booked a double room and whilst the toilet was behind a sliding door (not lockable) the shower was exposed fully to the room, no door, no curtain just you and your companion having a full on face to face (and face to other bits) conversation whilst you go about your daily routine!
Now I know this is becoming more of a thing with hotels where baths are in rooms or there’s glass windows into the bathroom but sometimes it’s nice to have privacy. I was with my wife so to a point it didn’t matter but if you’re travelling with a friend or sibling or parent etc then be prepared as you may want to plan your shower times, or take an eye mask!
The staff at the hotel were lovely, very friendly always happy to help, couldn’t fault them at all. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on the quality of the food.
This really is a great little hotel, well priced and has great amenities as well as a superb location. I will 100% stay here again when I return to Malaga. Thanks Doho

It was a trip for my daughter and her grandmother, and they had a great time. The hotel is very central and clean, and the receptionists were very nice, especially Juanjo, who attended to them very well and recommended excursions for the grandmother and granddaughter to do together.
Good job. Thank you, team!

A hotel that can be confidently recommended:
Perfect location - just across the street and you are in the old town
Good value for money
Clean, modernly furnished rooms - optimal size of living space and bathroom
Very nice and helpful staff at the reception
We booked without breakfast - and had a very good breakfast twice at the attached "Brunch it" (10% discount for hotel guests, with a separate menu)
We handled almost everything on foot - we only called a taxi for our trip to the Botanical Garden.
Only the view was missing - a view directly onto a nearby building and just a French balcony.
We would book this hotel again at any time!!
