Ronda IV

We stayed in the air del mar apartment .one bedroom with balcony small well equipped kitchenette. Very comfy bed and very clean.we travelled as a couple and the apartment suited us very well being a stone's throw from the beach and all the bars and restaurants..we love the costa del sol and have visited here quite a few times now over the years and normally try different places to stay..but we would definitely stay here again on our next visit if available .many thanks to Eduardo and his partner Sheyma .great communication with us .and very happy .we leave in a couple of days and feel well rested and our bones alot warmer then they would av been in the uk..thanks so much really great hosts..kelvin and cathy.

Over the past 10 years been a regular visitor to these apartments. As previously stated the apartments are being sold off and there are now lots of private apartments (I will review ours separate as lovely). The issue with this is that Mom-fri from around 9am there is building works as people who buy apartments renovate them. This depends then on where you are positioned compared to building work for us we were far enough away to not be intrusive. The pool remains clean and not in high use for early September but the sun beds are showing there age. If like us you book with an owner you don’t access hotel via reception now it’s via a clearly marked entrance on sea front. Onsite pool bar is now fully closed but the talk of the town still has direct access to the pool for any food or drinks. The supermarket part of complex is now closed but the same owners now run a larger one next door. All in all location still key and you actually get a better room not as dated by booking direct with owners

Having stayed here many times we were disapointed this time. There wasn't the same atmosphere about the place and the pool area and the upstairs sun veranda was filthy. No bar and the catering machines had gone. No supermarket at apts as it has moved next door and is more expensive now with no discount for ronda customers as before. People were being shown around the whole time we were there so we felt a bit uncomfortable sunbathing. Security doors into apts yet the pool gate was propped open most of the time we were there which meant anyone could enter the apartments via the pool without going past reception. For very little cost more when I returned later in month I stayed at the Yaramar and it was 5star service. Price is too high now for what you get at ronda and the noise and dirt due to the renovations of the apartments being sold. Staff as usual were so friendly and the English lady on reception looks after us as regulars. We appreciated being let stay on in apt. as nobody was going into it and our flight was in evening. Sad as have great memories.
