TRH Mijas Hotel

We really only used the hotel as place to stop. Exploring the town we found excellent bus links to all the resorts. You can pay on the bus but it's preferable to purchase a bus card from the tobacconist shop. We could see the sun bathing & swimming facilities were excellent. The choice of food was really good & nice. However, we noticed in the room that the furniture looked tyred & warn. I'll fitting because of being warn. We were there for a week.

My second visit to this amazingly positioned hotel with a fantastic view! It’s a nice friendly and comfortable hotel where, travelling alone, I feel really safe. Mijas is a very short stroll away. The pool is perfect, and there are loads of sunbeds. I opted for the lower area, which is nice and quiet, just away from the busy-ness of the pool area, but only a few short steps away. The pool bar has loads of choice of food and drinks too. I spent 4 very happy and chilled out days sunbathing! Breakfast was plentiful, lots of choice and quite a relaxed space too. The room I had was a very similar layout to last year. 2 big wardrobes, drawers, and a nice comfortable bed. Bath with a shower over. As others have said the rooms would benefit from a bit of an upgrade (hence 4 out of 5 but I would’ve made it 4.5 if I could) but it was comfortable and clean and a really good price. Last year I must have been fortunate as I got a nice balcony with a pool view but no balcony or view this year which was disappointing and something I’d contact them about if I return. There was an amazing storm one of the nights at around 4am and I couldn’t see it. First world problems I know.. All staff I interacted with were friendly and encouraging when I was attempting my limited Spanish too. I would definitely return!

Whilst the hotel has really nice public areas in reception bar and restaurant the rooms are very disappointing and its hard to argue ita 4 star hotel based on that. The rooms are very dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. We upgraded to a superior room and our advice would be to save your money and not bother as its very hard to see any justification for a superior tag. Pool area is nice but the sunbeds are way beyond their use by date with many saggy and uncomfortable. Location is good close to bars and restaurants and about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the centre.
