Grupotel Port D'alcudia*

Check in was quick and smooth. Room on floor 3 was quite large and had everything we needed inc a fridge. Found the staff to be helpful and friendly , always smiling. The buffet restaurant was ok, there was always something that we liked but the choices were somewhat limited. What we did have was good. The pool area is super....always plenty of sunbeds available which is a huge plus. Pools easy to get into and out of. The pool bar is great, never had a problem getting served. Location is good close to the beach. Mozzies never a problem. Had a lovely relaxing week here and would recommend.

We stayed here in Sept 15th to 22nd. Looked so forward to this hotel as we regulary booked Grupotels and never had any issues. Well that changed when we arrived at front desk to check in. Out booking was for 2 room booked back in June. The rude front desk manager NICO told us he had one room and the other guests would have to move down the road to another hotel as hotel was overbooked. We told him that we are not moving and he got a bit annoyed at us, and said the hotel was full and we had to take the other hotel. We said if other guests come in later that there was no rooms for them, correct he said, and he would offer half board as gesture. We point blank refused and luckly six people came in behind us and got rooms. He was furious and said something in Spanish and they produced a room out of thin air and he stormed away from us. We felt intimidated for the whole stay as he seemed to be on duty most days. He Would not rent me an iron or give us a late check out.....So I dont think I will be frequenting this hotel again. I emailed the Grupotel when I got home and recieved a phone call from the Manager of the Hotel. I explained what had happened and he was apologetic about what happened. He said I should have asked for him while there so he could have solved if, but I did ask on several occasions for him but NICO said he not in today or I just missed him. I did ask the night porter but he directed us to the front desk in the morning

Great location , close to shops,resturants , beach, bus stops. Hotel was lovely,we had a twin studio which has all we needed, table, microwave, kettle, fridge,tv. Rooms were very clean with housekeeping every day.
