Riu Palace Bonanza Playa

We stayed for 3 nights at Bonanza Playa. The location was good with a bus stop right outside to go to Palma and it was only a couple of euro for the trip. Room was on 4th floor. Nice enough but shower area could do with some maintenance where mould in sealant. Big breakfast buffet with something for everyone. We enjoyed the adults infinity pool area. Crazy golf at the Bonanza Park was fun. Our negatives Check in and out took ages as lack of staff on desk 18 euro a day to park and good luck if you have a large vehicle to manoeuvre in their garage.

Without a doubt, the location is very good. Although the staff has changed completely for the worse, I do have to congratulate José Castro, Rogelio, Carmen Gómez and Carmen Linares as well as Omar from reception. The reservations department seemed very unprofessional to me and too focused on billing without any empathy and, what is worse, no friendliness. In short, I think it has lost a lot of quality in the service, but if you are looking for a place to have good views, without caring about "the little details," perhaps you will like it... I don't think I will ever stay there again.

I had a problem with my room: The air conditioning was not working. I called the front desk several times, but no one answered the phone. I tried at different times of the day, but without success. Finally, I had to go to the front desk in person – and there was no one there. I do not understand why the phone is not answered when there are no guests at the front desk. The staff at the front desk were friendly, but unfortunately not very professional. Finally, they called their manager Estrella. From that moment on, my personal nightmare began. I understand that not everyone can speak German. However, from the manager of a hotel of this category, I expect at least reasonable English skills. I could barely understand her. Communication with her was extremely difficult and seemed very unprofessional to me. Is she really the manager of this hotel? It is not just about the fact that communication was difficult. I explained to her that I had already been struggling with this problem for two days. Her answer was that there were no other rooms and that there was nothing she could do about it. Afterward, I was treated as if I were an annoying petitioner. An unbelievable and outrageous experience. I will definitely not set foot in this hotel again. Other guests from their rooms even asked me how I was doing. I wanted to speak with the hotel management, but unfortunately, the people in charge were in a meeting at that time. I am leaving this comment for everyone who might read it before they get the idea to book this hotel.
