i stay in this hotel 2 years ago .this hotel has very gool location in balaman 1 el arenal but furniture was very old and no have air conditioner and refrigerator this hotel has very cool athmosfere and near a beach about 2 minutes by walking

We were moved to this hotel after paying to stay at a 'sister' hotel... The Reina Isabel, whom, upon arrival, announced they were full ??? Met other angry people who had also been affected by this scam and moved onto here. They are obviously fully aware they overbook there other hotel in order to fill this one and others...They can't make this many mistakes with their bookings its just NOT possible. It was a very upsetting start to our holiday, especially as my daughter and I were travelling with my handicapped son. However, the hotel is in need of desperate renovation, the fixtures and fittings, lights etc in the rooms being dreadful and the beds horrendous with all fabric totally ripped to shreds on the bed base. When you walked about you caught your feet in the material and were tripped up constantly. Dangerous for kids as well as adults!!!! Good side? Restaurant staff nice... especially helpful and knowledgeable was Sam, an ex Brit who now lives and works there. Rooms were clean, towels and linen etc.. maid nice too. Only ate there twice as the food was very basic and poor. Lack of real meat ... don't wish to eat processed turkey burgers for dinner!! Close to beach front. Forget the pool, it's underneath hotel and out of sun.............freezing... no one used it at all and sun lounge area about 25'x8' and not in sunshine either? Whats the point? Only one electric plug in our room behind the bed head??? No air con so ridiculously hot. No T.V. We decided to use the hotel to sleep in only and get out as much as possible. It was the only way we could find to enjoy the holiday. We even looked for flights home at one point. To be honest, it's not this hotels fault, we were never booked in here, we didn't pay to stay in this hotel.. this chain of hotels let us and several other holiday makers down by operating some sort of booking scam.

Staying there with a couple of friends, taking the chance for a sailing course in Club Nautico Arenal. Good beach, nice bar and restaurants. The hotel is good value for money, just booked today for another week this summer. We stayed last time in the neighbour hotel also from HSM
