Hipotels Mercedes

The Hipotels Mercedes is a good Spanish 4-star hotel – no more, but also no less. In my opinion, the four stars are indeed justified. The absolute highlight is the location: The beach is only about 50 meters away, which is especially ideal for families and beach lovers. The rooms are spacious and offer comfortable beds. Although they are somewhat dated and show minor signs of wear or minimal defects, these did not affect our stay. The staff is particularly noteworthy. All employees were very friendly, attentive, and always eager to fulfill the guests' wishes. However, a major downside for us was the food, especially for vegetarians. The selection was adequate, but unfortunately, the quality could not convince. Often, for example, there was pasta only with meat or fish sauce. A simple tomato sauce as a vegetarian alternative would have been desirable. Overall, the culinary offerings unfortunately did not meet the level we would expect from a 4-star hotel. The beach slopes gently and is therefore excellent for families with children. We also liked the hotel pool. It was sufficiently large, well-maintained, and equipped with comfortable loungers as well as enough umbrellas. Overall, the Hipotels Mercedes is a solid hotel with an excellent location, friendly staff, and decent rooms. If the quality of the food were improved, the overall package would be significantly more coherent.

We were drawn to this hotel by the beautiful location and because we knew the Hipotels chain having already stayed in another establishment. Structure located just 30 meters from the beach in a beautiful area. Our room was spacious and offered a truly spectacular side view. The only downside of the room is the decor: the style is a bit retro, and a touch of modernization would not hurt at all. Overall, the structure is very beautiful. There is a pool ideal for children, which unfortunately we often found a bit dirty (sand everywhere); I had the impression that it was not cleaned in the morning, and since there was no chlorine, the water was practically salty. The real downside of the stay was unfortunately the dining service. Having already stayed in another hotel of the same chain, our expectations were definitely higher, but the reality was disappointing: almost all frozen food, of poor quality and in small quantities. You certainly wouldn't starve, but the choice was really limited and incomplete. Moreover, it was enough to arrive for breakfast or dinner just a moment late to risk finding the buffets almost empty. A big round of applause goes to the staff: everyone was extremely kind, helpful, and professional; there is absolutely nothing negative to say about them. In summary: the hotel has excellent potential due to its location and staff, but the management of the kitchen and the maintenance of the pool definitely need improvement.

I wanted to thank Chef Saliou for the treatment received by my daughter, who is celiac, and the chef made sure to always have her dinner ready and took care of every detail, an unbeatable experience that we will surely repeat as a family, and not to forget to mention that the paella is delicious.
