Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for our first 10 day holiday together. We had the most amazing time. Every single staff member we spoke to was polite, friendly, and made our experience even better. The food was incredible and above our expectations, the fresh fish and meat that were cooked by the chef every night were gorgeous, and the fresh omelettes on a morning were so lovely I had one every day. The location is spot on, with fantastic bars and restaurants less than a 10 minute walk away. I knew there would be some bad reviews following the power cut we experienced, so I wanted to share a positive one. I feel the staff did everything they could. It wasn’t their fault the power went out, and they were just as uncomfortable as we were which I think many people forgot, as it was a region wide outage. We were given bottles of water, and apologised to profusely. Yes it was annoying that we were given false estimated times of it coming back on, but the staff were only going on what they were told by the electric company. I didn’t think it was fair at all that the staff were being shouted and screamed at by guests for something completely out of their control, one of the staff members ended up crying as a result of the confrontation. One member of staff even did a 24 hour shift without going home or sleeping to try and help the guests - that screams going above and beyond to me. Me and my boyfriend went to the beach for both of the days it was off, and made the most of a bad situation - as did many guests. We did have to be down by the pool by 8am latest to get a sunbed, but this was to be expected when you go on holiday in peak July. The noise from the airport didn’t bother us one bit, the hotel isn’t on the actual flight path so the noise wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I expected when looking at the location. All in all an amazing trip, and highly recommended. Thank you so much to the staff for hosting us so well.

The recent negative reviews regarding the power cut should not be taken seriously. This is something that is completely out of the staff’s control, and they did their very best to help and accommodate every single guest, even those kicking up a fuss. The area is brilliant and within walking distance of the beach, a host of shops, bars and restaurants. We booked half board, and had dinner at the hotel more than we actually planned originally because the quality of options was superb. There is a bit of a rush to get sunbeds in the morning, although the lifeguard did make an effort to remove those which had been reserved and then abandoned in the mornings. The room was more than adequate, cleaned daily and in the time the aircon was working it was very powerful. Entertainment was available some evenings which created a nice atmosphere, with staff more than happy to assist with drinks as soon as ours finished. We had a lovely stay at JS Palma and thank the staff for all their hard work, especially in a testing 36 hours without power.

We arrived at the JS Palma Stay on the 17th July for a 3 Nights on a half board basis. All of the power, lighting, water, showering facilities, air conditioning etc went off at 10.30Hrs our first full day the 18th July The toilets could not be flushed. The temperature averaged 38 degrees during the day.. It was not until 17.30 hrs, 31 HOURS LATER on the 19th July that any of the services resumed. No bottled water was offered on the first day. There was some small bottles available on the second day. Nothing else of any significance was offered during our visit. On our second night we had to make our way to our 4th floor room without lighting & our room obviously didn't have air conditioning, water or a functioning toilet. We can accept that the power outage was out of the hotels control, but we can't accept that there was no communication or assistance at all from any of the hotel management during the 31 hours we had to endure. The senior management were none existent. The general staff didn't seem bothered. On our final full day we went approx 1/4 mile to find a supermarket with power to purchase approx 25L of water so we could 'shower' in it..... great fun pouring cold bottled water in a dark shower! There was some food available ( which we'd paid for in our package) but we had serious doubts of the quality due to food safety after the had had no power / water for so long. How could they keep things 'fresh' without power / water? These hotels are part of a big organisation & they were happy to email us a 'satisfaction survey on our first day, they have all our email addresses, phone numbers etc and are happy to use these to their advantage when it suits them. I could still use my phone & sent myself an email to check that it worked during the outage, so when I asked a member of staff why there were not communicating they said it was due to the outage, it was a typical response and an insult to our intelligence. We've still not had any communication from the 4 days after we returned home. It's only when you have a problem that you realize how good / bad an organisations is....... JS Palma Stay failed big style.
