Ola Club Panama

On holiday at the Panama for a week now. Let me start with the positives: Staff friendly and helpful. Special mention to Dana the entertainment lady who was very approachable and arranged games and quizzes throughout the day. Room was clean and tidied every day. Good size bathroom and shower good, although could be a little bigger. Pool was lovely but again could be a little bigger but perfectly satisfactory. Ample of sunbeds. Now for the negatives: 1. Safe cost €51 with a €10 refund at the end of stay. 2. Towels are. €10 each but you do get that back when you hand in your towel at the end of your stay. NOTE: if your towel gets wet, like mine, through a torrential downpour, and you request an exchange for a dry towel, No, you have to pay €1 3. Be aware that the bar in the hotel is card only, no cash so don’t bother changing too much spending money. 4. Although there are plenty of sunbeds there are very few umbrellas. You have to go out early to get these. Some are broken and discarded, it would be a good idea if these were repaired. 5. The pool is lovely but there is no shallow end. I am 5’8” and have to stand on tippee toe. It would be much more enjoyable if there was a shallow end dropping gently to a deep end. After all, not all of us are 6’ tall and swimmers”. The good thing about the pool is that does have steps going down with a handrail. 6. Food in the main isn’t too bad. You get a good selection of salads and desserts but dinners are very few. Meat you can’t cut and vegetables that don’t go with any combination Choices very similar every day, vegetarians might struggle. 7. Beach is referred to as being a 2 min walk. Don’t believe it is more like 10-15 minutes and a hard slog uphill on the way back. If you want a sunbed and shade on the beach, the cos is €24.50 for two beds and shade. 8. This hotel claims to be a 4* but I and many of my holidaymakers believe this to be incorrect, more like 3* I will not be returning to this hotel and I doubt they would want me, I just wish TUI and the agents were open about holiday hotels. If they don’t know then they should be inspected regularly so full disclosure can be passed to the customer.

I loved the service from Dolores, the bar waitress who has been taking care of us all morning; furthermore, Mohamed explained everything perfectly to us and we also loved the service.

The service from Mohamed and Dolores was wonderful!! In addition to the spectacular attention and service
