Riu San Francisco

I loved my stay here. It is a small, intimate hotel right in the middle of all the action, however the hotel itself is very quiet and peaceful and the windows are sound proof as even though it is located on a busy street, I didn’t hear a sound at night. The half board food was delicious and varied, and the staff were very helpful, calm and kind. A big shout out to Michel who helped me when I lost my phone outside of the hotel. I was very upset but Michel assisted me with downloading an app to locate my phone, and thankfully someone had found it and handed it in at a local bar so I got it back safely. Michel was so helpful with any other requests and questions I had during my stay - as were all of the other staff. Thank you for a wonderful stay from my dad and I!

Unfortunately, my stay started very poorly. Despite a reservation made more than five months in advance, the hotel wanted to transfer me to another RIU hotel due to overbooking. Since I had chosen the RIU San Francisco specifically for its location and the sense of security it provides, this solution was not acceptable to me. The check-in thus lasted nearly two hours, even though I had already checked in online. However, I would like to particularly thank the receptionist who did everything possible to correct the error and ultimately allow me to obtain a room. The only star I give is for her. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was not more satisfactory. When I returned in the afternoon to retrieve the key to my room, the receptionist clearly made it understood that, in his opinion, I had already wasted enough of his time in the morning. As a result, I did not receive any of the information usually provided to guests (Wi-Fi, access doors, etc.). Furthermore, my room, located on the side of Schinkenstrasse, was very noisy, and the sound insulation of the hotel was also insufficient. At night, the sounds from the street were clearly audible; during the day, the comings and goings as well as the conversations of other guests in the hallways could be heard. Unfortunately, the check-out also unnecessarily took a long time. Due to an error on the bill, it took about 30 minutes for the situation to be clarified. I come to Playa de Palma three times a year, and this time I wanted to try a RIU hotel for the first time. However, for me, it will also be the last time. In other hotels in the area (Aubamar, Niagara, Aya, Dunas Blancas), I have had significantly better experiences...

Excellent hotel with professional and friendly staff. Clean rooms, good matresses and excellent food. However I advise to take a room with seavieuw because then you have not the noise of the streets alongside or at the frontside (where a lot of pubs etc are).
