Viva Sunrise

We recently stayed at Viva Sunrise for 7 nights as a family. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and made some amazing memories, but unfortunately the air conditioning really let our stay down. Our first apartment had barely any air conditioning, making it very uncomfortable to sleep, especially in the July heat. We spoke to reception and, after a quite a bit if moaning from me, they did moveus to another room on the evening. The second apartment was better, but the air conditioning still just wasn't cold enough. We do appreciate that the hotel was experiencing an extreme heatwave while we were there, but we still expected the rooms to be cooler and more comfortable. We also felt the apartments are starting to look a little dated. Our first room felt quite tired and didn't seem as clean as we'd hoped, while the second room was much nicer but could still do with being modernised. That said, there were so many positives. The staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the hotel itself had a lovely atmosphere. The pools and splash area were fantastic, and our son absolutely loved them. The location is perfect too, with the beach, shops and restaurants all within easy walking distance. The entertainment team worked really hard and there was always something going on. The children's disco was great. We just think it would have been even better if there were more interactive games for the children each evening rather than mainly just the disco. Even so, our son had an amazing time. The all-inclusive was one of the highlights. The bar served branded drinks, which was a lovely surprise, and there were slushies, ice creams and ice lollies included throughout the day, which were a huge hit with our son. The buffet had plenty of choice, and there was always pizza and chips available for fussy eaters. We would have liked to see a dedicated children's section every evening, as things like chicken nuggets were only available on one or two nights, but overall we never struggled to find something to eat. The air conditioning is the one thing that would stop us from returning as this isnt something we would expect to be an issue in a 4 star hotel. If this was improved, we'd happily book again because we genuinely loved everything else about the hotel.

Hotel is about 50 minutes from the airport, amazing views on the way. Our room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable beds and the room was really quiet so had great nights sleep throughout our stay. Great family hotel, lots of activities but the nighttime entertainment was a bit poor. Food was delicious however the hotel needs to look at their labelling as some food was labelled wrong or (for example the sandwiches in the all inclusive fridge) had no labels at all. Reception team very helpful and accommodating. Loved the idea of the sports bar but it was always empty with no atmosphere - perhaps serving drinks and snacks in there such as crisps at night and would help! Pool area good and the all inclusive drinks van is a brill idea. Beach is a short walk away, worth pointing out that Alcudia is currently undergoing big construction work on the roads. Overall a lovely holiday!

Okay hotel. Helpsome people at the reception and good rooms. No new bed clothes in a week but Towels okay.
