Book please. no stay in the Caribbean Bay Hotel in El Arenal. This hotel is an absolute nightmare and will ruin your vacation guaranteed. The facts in a row: Smug and neglected: Upon entering the room, you startle yourself. Dirt on the floor, hair on the wall, towels with holes and stains, and a broken bathtub. As a cherry on the cake, there was just a used, dirty hairbrush from the previous guests in the cupboard. It is simply NOT cleaned here. Uncivil and 'hospitality' nowhere to be found: Do you report a complaint to the reception? Make sure you have plenty of time until it is resolved. You are simply left to your fate and have to insist 3 times on cleaning the cabinet with a dirty brush. In the bar by the pool, you get a sharp look if you come to drink something late in the evening... No food upon late arrival: Are you a bit late due to a long transfer? And then you have to queue up in their lobby to check in. Darn! The restaurant closes at 9:30 PM and there is no communication between the travel agency and the hotel. Result, you can still look for food yourself at 10 pm. Restaurant is a hellish restaurant: The food itself is subpar, but the atmosphere is even worse. Quiet eating is impossible because the staff makes a huge racket. While you are still at the table, they are clattering with plates and cutlery to clear and set the tables in advance. I have never experienced this anywhere. People are eating with earplugs. The hotel is in the middle of a busy tourist strip on the coast. There is a lot of noise, people have parties on their terraces in the evening, there is constant traffic of buses and the view is easy to summarize; other ugly hotels. This is not a hotel, this is a cheap, noisy, and dirty factory where guests are treated like cattle. Save yourself a lot of trouble and look for accommodation where hygiene and hospitality do exist!

Hotel with very kind and qualified staff from the reception to the dining room, including the cleaning ladies; sheets changed every day, while with the towels they were a bit stingy; the food had every good thing from meat to fish every day for lunch and dinner, and a nice thing was that you didn't have time to finish the food in the pots/casseroles before they immediately refilled them, sometimes even before they finished.
