Hotel Ipanema Beach

The location is a little out of the way but nice and quiet if you are wanting a relaxing break. The atmosphere is quite strained as staff are not welcoming or polite and do not attempt to give any information on activities, travel etc. Rooms are nice and clean, daily cleans and towels. The value is poor, the food is awful, evening meals were cold and dried out daily, my partner also bit into raw chicken in the goujons. Breakfast was ok but again, food was left out for a long time. Bar staff were rude and could barely speak English so kept getting drinks and snacks orders wrong. Life guard spent most of the time in the bar with the young bar staff and was rarely around the pool. Would not recommend this hotel.

We were here for 9 days. The positive aspect upfront: The room is beautifully modern, really nice, and one can really enjoy staying here. The breakfast buffet is huge and offers enough variety for everyone. The staff in the service are also nice and always helpful. So why the point deduction? Unfortunately, the soundproofing of the rooms is absolutely inadequate. We understand that the hotel cannot do anything about the construction site directly across the street. But you can hear just about everything. Sleeping in during vacation? Not a chance. By 9:00 AM at the latest, you are awake because of the construction noise in bed. Additionally, the hotel is located near the Ballermann. I can't even say if the other guests were really extremely loud or if the walls are just made of cardboard; you can hear everything, even the simplest conversations. I have no idea if the conventional construction style in Spain is like this or if we "Germans" with triple glazing, etc., are just spoiled, but no matter if in the hallway, in the adjacent room, or on the street, if something happened, I knew about it. Therefore, anyone who has a very deep sleep or gets up early anyway won't have any issues here. However, it will be difficult for late risers.

Too bad that the Service is so bad because in itself it is a beautiful hotel with good potential with its beautiful pool and giant screen with music. Unfortunately half-made housekeeping (the floor was not washed for 3 days despite our report at the reception), at breakfast a woman who rips off your handle to check your access bracelet without even talking to you (very nice in the morning...), always at breakfast gaze high park that I just explain that I will have a coffee and come back after (you thought I was going to steal a croissant?...), a reception that prevents you from having breakfast because for the payment their TPE did not work and even if you offer to pay them in cash after withdrawing at the bank (basically you are taken for thieves... yet it was enough to take my room number if see were not sure of my good faith). Basically very very bad experience because of Service! except for the staff at the bar who were very friendly!
