Valentin Star Hotel

We stayed at the Valentin Star hotel on a Bed and Breakfast board basis for 10 nights. The hotel is really well located, very clean with good service. The pool is a little cold but not a problem once in and there are plenty of sunbeds. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. Our room was very comfortable, clean with an excellent shower. We did bed and breakfast (we normally do AI) because we wanted to try the local restaurants and bars. This worked well but the hotel AI option looks very good if that's your preference. We didn't find drinks purchased at the hotel to be too expensive so it worked out fine, Hotel entertainment was good, the hotel tried to vary it and add some late afternoon entertainment too. The crowd at the hotel was at the older end of the spectrum and I dont know if all the entertainment resonated but most people seemed to like it. If you are looking for a relaxing, quality hotel, this may be for you...

We spent almost two weeks at this hotel in September. Overall an excellent hotel, fabulous location, very clean and excellent staff. The hotel is located on the marina so very close to restaurants and shops. 5 minute walk to a lovely beach. We had a basic room which was large and always clean. However our balcony overlooked a busy road so if I returned would probably pay extra for a pool view room. We had a problem with air conditioning which we reported and very quickly this got fixed. The atmosphere around the pool is very chilled and quiet. The best thing is that there are loads of sunbeds and never a shortage however the sunbeds were a little uncomfortable and could do with updating. We loved the musicians who played around the pool a few times, very enjoyable. We did feel that a little more chilled music around the pool nearer the snack bar would be good.It was very quiet so perhaps a compromise would be good, some music from lunch time onwards? The restaurant is smart and choice of food good although I don’t eat seafood so did find on some nights there was too much of it and not enough other choices. Salads excellent but maybe could vary them more, we had the same salads every night. We were half board and felt that tea and coffee should be included, even if a coffee machine is available to use. Entertainment was good on some nights but there are definitely a couple of acts that need to go. This hotel attracts the older generation, I’m guessing there are a lot of repeat customers that have been coming for years. Overall it’s an excellent hotel and we would consider returning.

4th time staying at The Valentin Star, twice this year. The hotel staff are 100% helpful curious and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was always replenished regularly and fresh. The chef happy to cook omelettes and eggs the way you want them. Plenty of sunbeds around the lovely pool, never an issue to get one after breakfast and no reserving so everyone can relax knowing they do t have to rush early to make sure they get a bed. Lovely pool staff. A very nice relaxing time every time.
